One third of her six reviews are Harry Potter books.

I did think her stranger review was good and her video wasn't awful to watch like so many are. I'll be interested to see what she reviews each week/how long it takes her to give up doing a review a week.
>>
if you like her and post her here they'll just ruin her life
>>

Yeah, she made a live chat a couple weeks ago. She just got wasted and sat on her boyfriend's lap the whole time. A little disappointing.
>>

I just want to listen to opinions from people my own age that arent scholars. there is a time and place for that, I just want to see what other idiots online think about the books.

They have a book analysis thing called Thug Notes and they make 8-bit philosophy which is fun and nice.

>Literally all popular booktubers have same fucking favorite books

Hey dumbo.
That's because the general population has shit taste.
Now lets do some mathematics here, don't be scared i'll help you.
What is a bigger number, snowflakes like e/lit/ists or the absolute motherfucking general public?

If hypothetically they were 100 booktubers and 50 of them appealed to the massive audience taste, those 50 will be selected to have high views because of the numerical superiority of the plebs, while the 50 that didn't appeal to the general population will have collectively dare I say, less views than just ONE of the popular 50.

That's why they have "similar shit taste".
You literally have pop-music as an obvious example.

>>7704509

I find it very telling of this age that Youtube, a platform for sharing videos, is the place were people dump their reviews of videogames and books.

Most of the time the video itself is irrelevant (this is particularly infuriating when it's a videogame review, and the actual gameplay is just random footage) and the reviewer is reading from a sheet of paper a text that he/she has written. They are able to share their text somewhere (a blog, etc) but in reality no one would read it.

Youtube is the place to be for critical analysis, and it's stupid as fuck. People, especially young people, read less every day. Our attention span is getting shorter and shorter. And thus we need the video, a format that takes the viewer hand and does all the work to actually get to 'read' a critical analysis of books or games. I don't think books are going to last in this era, they can't, mark my words.

Hearing someone talk to you is different than reading from a screen. Especially for trivial thing like video games reviews, it's like talking to a friend who knows a lot about video games. I sometimes watch Fantano's music reviews instead of music websites because I don't care that much and just want to see someone bring up some points in a casual manner.

Also stop saying 'our' as if that's the case with all of us. The majority of people have always had low attention spans but now they are only getting exposed on the internet. Books are going to be just fine.
