What are some great philosophical works of this century?
Of the few I've read, Objectivity (Daston, Galison), Alienation (Jaeggi) and Systematicity (Hoyningen-Huene) rank all among the must-read.

What are these puzzles? Are they from a book?

The puzzles are from Ultimate IQ Tests by Carter and Russell. The name of the book is just for commercial reasons, there isn't much related to actual IQ tests in it, except a collection of puzzles. They can be fun sometimes.

After any letter of the word, the next letter is found by (1) a chord across the circle (see example) if the letter is five or more places away, or (2) travelling across the circumference if the next letter is four or less places away.
In the picture: AB and EF are next to each other, so you go across the circumference; EI is five places, so you go through a chord.
