John Green's brother.
He's just as insufferable.
>>7678110
Hank is a hundred times worse than John
>>7677571
>John Green too busy banging preteen audience pussy to be the only good host on his shitty youtube series.
>>7678143
I loved the world history series because it was, as Green called it "an exercise in empathy" more than anything else.
Watch the videos if they feel good, I feel there's a gap in the philosophy autodictat's sources of enjoy meet between interesting academic literature that doesn't waste time being nice to you and friends who although nice are vain as fuck.
Crashcourse and the likes help bridge that gap by conveying knowledge in a friendly spirit, and seeing them do this makes you realise why philosophers don't try the same.
Dont expect to learn much OP but still if you're new to the field and find real texts or podcasts too daunting, it should be fun.

I bet they think they appreciate science cause they follow NASA on Twitter and saw a couple of episodes of NDT's version of Cosmos too.
>>7678652
Don't forget following I fucking love science on facebook
>>7677612
absolute madman
If you think you'll learn anything by solely watching youtube videos you are in trouble.
>>7678687
Are you a retard? Of course you can learn by watching youtube videos. They are videos like any other videos. You can even find a plethora of uni lectures on youtube.
>>7678110
is this true
>>7677571
>crash course
Please remember John "The Cuck" Green is a teacher for that series.
Read the book Sophie's World instead.
>>7678695
>solely
Watching your professor talk is not the only thing you do in university. Any video should be taken only as an additional perspective into whatever you're studying.
>>7677571
>John Green
Expect nothing OP.
>>7677571
I have the feeling that, like wisecrack and the school of life, this is going to be so watered down and simplified that it'll be pointless. People always say shit like, "it's for plebs and teenagers, so it doesn't matter!" but when it's just causing more misconceptions to be shat around everywhere then it really can be harmful.
>>7677571
not much.
Personally, for online resource for philosophy, you have the some lectures of Allan Bloom and courses in Leo Strauss archive with lectures that available on youtube such as Shelly Kagan course on deaath if I remember correctly that contain fairly decent reading for Plato's Phaidon (if I remember correctly the name of the proffesor) which are far better then any of what seems rather simplified series

The problem I have is that they are often wrong or biased. The whole episode about the Mongols made me angry. The Mongols were the most destructive thing man had ever done to itself at the time and he hand-waves the millions of civilian murders by 'they don't care what religion you are' bullshit. No shit, that's because they are so busy killing so many people they the blood and puss congealed to create a deadly artificial swamp which was still killing people centuries after they created it.

>the blood and puss congealed to create a deadly artificial swamp which was still killing people centuries after they created it.
Wew, where can I read about this?

Who ISN'T fascinated by quantam stuff and math? I am a big math guy. Fermat's Theorem and such. I mean, everything around you is science or math.
Did you know that Pluto isn't a planet anymore? And space is like a big piece of paper or something that we can fold. And when you're in space you get older faster or quicker, I don't remember which, but the point is that time is just perception and most people don't get that. I went to the planetarium twice because this stuff just fascinates me.

Shut the fuck up. Legitimate OCD gives me obsessive suicidal thoughts and whenever I rub something I have to rub it the opposite way.
Reminder that "OCD" "bipolar" "ADHD" etc are not adjectives you can try on like fun bracelets
>>7679238
>Legitimate OCD gives me obsessive suicidal thoughts and whenever I rub something I have to rub it the opposite way.
Lol that's not OCD. That's just acting like a crazy person. OCD is just about watning things to be really neat and orderly and stuff.
