Guess this is as good a time as any. Hey /lit/ I'm brand new here, desu I've read only a little and could probably in no way participate in a discussion here. I came here though because I'm interested in getting into philosophy and philosophical books, if that's even the right term. Where should I start? And are there any books I should read before even getting into philosophy? Thanks, and I plan to start lurking here more in hopes to get other good literature Recs in general.
>>
You read Kant first and then branch off into either one
>>
>>7677309
>Being pleb enough to have to read nietzsche to do this.

A real man does this at birth.

I'll also add, what is the board culture like here? I come from /tv/ (no judging) and it's an absolute shit hole, you can't take any opinion seriously because it's just someone trying to get a rise out of people. Also, no matter your taste, it's considered shit. Are people here generally more helpful and accepting, for lack of a better word?

In order to reach the divine sphere one must be a man or become a man. Just as Jesus and buddha was a man so is the nature of those that reach enlightenment. A true baby is born a man at birth.

>schopenhauer -> nietzsche ->
->heidegger->sartre->foucault->deleuze & guattari

>for men

Where did you get this idea?
Jesus died a man.
Do you honestly think he reached the divine sphere when he was still alive?

The sticky should have everything you need.

If you're too lazy:

Also make sure you know your greeks:

It's better. There shitposting is normally a bit more tolerable, and newfags can learn something from people who shit on their tastes. It's still 4chan, though. Don't expect anyone to hold your hand or respect your opinion.
>>
Schopenhauer wasnt even that influential to Nietzsche. Darwin and Thoreaux were larger influences honestly.

Personally I say just stop at schopenhauer.

Didnt Kant already say this way before Deleuze? I know someone did, I cannot remember who

You must be joking.

Jesus was both mortal and immortal and as such he touched all the spheres. Just as buddha did. A true man is a god since birth.
>>
>>7677409
Nietzsche will purge you of any impurity left.
Read all of Schopenhauers books before that happens.

Berkeley should be replaced with Voltaire desu.

Yes, but he discussed the term with regards to a completely different context. So, it is non-applicable to this specific situation.
