You should read about Cicero's life too probably.
Cicero by Anthony Everitt is a good starting point. If you want a more in depth explanation of Roman politics at the time, read The Roman Revolution by Ronald Syme.

You could do the pleb-tier approach and read his phillipics and other bullshit, or you could skip levels 1-274 and jump right to esoteric based Cicero by reading The Dream of Scipio (Somnium Scipionis)
