Show me your e-books
>>
>>7666767
I read some books too in iBooks on my phone but mostly poetry and shorter works.
But it sort of trivializes my reading for some reason. I remember my books when they're physical copies

What is the point of this thread?
>>
I've got tons of e-books and I have a question. Is is really bad that I read it on my laptop(sumatra pdf) instead of having a physical copy? In terms of staring for hours at a dim laptop lcd screen and posture wise..
>>
>>7666830
Posture is very important. You should try to find a used e-reader for around 50 bucks if you have that many e-books and buy a bookstand for posture.

Not many more books than this guy >>7666827

But I have a large archaeology collection that kind of inflates the size. Also collections on finance and the cambridge history series.

I did wonder how you managed to have fewer books than me at ten times the size. I don't have very many pdfs, which may account for it.

>I'm not sure you understand how to use greentext.
"Enter a single ">" before a line in your reply and it will show up green. This is supposed to indicate a quotation of someone else's post, but as no one one 4chan has any respect for petty distinctions like intellectual property, hardly anyone does this. Much more common is reductive quoting:"
I'm confused how that's not reductive quoting.

Thank you brather, I'm currently listening to Jean-baptised Accolay : violin concerto no.1 in a minor. You?
>>
>>7666895
The appropriate response to him would have been

>reading readers digest
You are the cancer that is killing this board

or as a response to someone calling him cancer

>readers digest
>cancer
(implying that you have to pick one)

Your post is a defense or readers digest, or maybe I am misunderstanding and you are defending readers digest from any upcoming attacks

>Confessions of a Mask
Is this any good? I am about to read it and don't want to get memed
>>
>>7666922
Yes, and even if you dont like it, its only like 120 pages anyways
>>
>>7666905
In the aforementioned parameters of "greentexting" we were able to derive meaning from reducing the basic essence of any given statement to what its pith meant. This then I would infer to mean that one can take
>Reader's Digest
>cancer
to mean that Redear's Digest can be reduced to to cancer.
I'm confused as to why you state it designates itself as a choice of criticizing another. If used as a metaphorical device we could easily use greentext to compound on the already given statement, compounding through the reduction of what was given.
I'm not arguing what I did was the correct form, I'm merely stating that it's not wrong to delineate the core of something via greentext in a derisive way.

Didn't want to start a new thread because I bet you get these questions all the time, but what kind of e-readers are you guys using?
I'm currently interested in Amazon's paperwhite model but it's a little pricy for me and wondering if there's anything better to consider. I thought about getting a regular tablet (like one of the cheap Fire models) but from what I read it doesn't have e-ink tech and I'd like to avoid eyestrain as much as possible.

Search your city's classifieds (craigslist, kijiji, etc.). You can get a used Kindle/Sony/Kobo for much less. A lot of people receive e-readers as gifts, never use them, and eventually sell them for cheap. Do not get a tablet. I personally use a Sony PRS-T2.
