I liked it quite a bit. It was more opinionated than I thought it would be, and I didn't always agree with what was said, but overall it was very interesting and informative.

pop history dude. Its language makes it clear that its written to appeal to the new atheist/ mainstream "nerd" culture.
A lot of new-agey beliefs weave their way through the book and its a very shallow probe into genuine intellectual spheres.
Read this if you're the kind of pleb who loves factoids
