I'm reading through A Confederacy of Dunces, and I'm enjoying the comedy a lot. Ignatius seems like proto /r9k/ anon, it's pretty great.
There's something that I feel like I'm missing about him though. What's the significance of his Big Chief writing tablets? I'd never heard about them before until I started reading ACoD, so I get the feeling that I'm missing another magnitude of absurdity.

They are wide-spaced tablets for little kids to practice handwriting on. Ignatius's use of them for writing his philosophical opus signifies his childishness and lack of self-awareness.

He has a girl who is interested in him. And he reads and has a degree.
That's the antithesis of the jugpissers on /r9k/

>implying reading and jugpissing are opposed
>implying im not reading while jugpissing right now

This. It's a meme that needs to die

He's a filthy manchild. He managed to get a Master's degree in 10 years of schooling. He is one of those "lazy genius" types - definitely /r9k/ material.

Thank you for clearing that up

I'll add that Ignatius lacks the self-awareness and, by consequence, the self-loathing the r9k types have.
