Round 3 of the Sharethreads

Bibliotik is currently on a freeleach for 20 more hours, so make a request (for things that aren't available elsewhere, like libgen or bookzz) and maybe someone can help you. If you have anything to share then feel free.

>>7613526

previous threads

Check 4ch.be (the warosu replacement) when either of those go down.

The previous thread had NYRB, Dalkey Archive, Pushkin Archive and Oxford World Classics mass-torrents, among other things. If you're new to torrents, try reading the sticky on /t/ and /g/. /g/ also has many threads related to torrents, such as ongoing PTG (private tracker general) and the QTDDTOT (assuming the posters are feeling generous)

Thrice requesting Kinski Uncut - The Autobiography of Klaus Kinski

Requesting Flight of Lucifer by Bloom and his Anatomy of Influence, also Bloom's and Frye's books on Blake
>>
>>7621691
What can I freeleech that will eventually bolster my upload ratio after the 20 hours run their course? Or should I just seed anything?
>>
The Old Axolotl by Jacek Dukaj. Also, anything by Dukaj, preferably in epub or mobi. The rest is only avalible in Polish though (The Old Axolotl is translated to English).
>>
>>7621713
It's a request obviously, excuse me for not specifying it.
>>
These are some books that people (and I) have been requesting for a while. Perhaps some are out there?

Chinese:
The Money Demon: An Autobiographical Romance (Fiction from Modern China)
Lin Yutang - Moment in Peking
Celebrated Cases of Judge Dee

>Kinski Uncut - The Autobiography of Klaus Kinski
Not there, closest is: [[Beauty and the Beast: The Story of Nastassja & Klaus Kinski by W. A. Harbinson (CreateSpace)]] relating to title.

> Flight of Lucifer by Bloom and his Anatomy of Influence, also Bloom's and Frye's books on Blake
Flight is not on there. Anatomy of Influence is in .epub here: http://libgen.io/get_ads.php?md5=12bb8709d518d741decc06eff4fa594a and the only thing in their archives with Frye/Bloom is "Criticism of Society: Interviews", interested?

Hope I was of some help.
>>
>>7621723
>Criticism of Society: Interviews
Sorry, it's "Criticism *in* Society", my bad.
>>
>>7621699
Please give full names, no "Bloom's and Frye's books on Blake", will make it a lot easier for me to check my sources.
>>
>>7621722
>Jaroslav Hasek - The Good Soldier Svejk
Are you the same person who keeps asking for this in every single thread? I swear I've told you about it being on libgen at least twice. Is there something wrong with it?
>>
>>7621723
Frye and Bloom wrote seperate books on Blake, sorry if I was unclear. Or are you saying that's all they have of either writer? I'd be interested in CoS:I anyway, as well as the Kinski book if you'd like to upload them.

Also requesting anything by Arno Schmidt and Robert Walser, and Our Exagmination Round His Factification for Incamination of WIP
>>
>>7621743
Working on it.
>Our Exagmination Round His Factification for Incamination of WIP
I'm almost sure it's on JSTOR, do you have access, perhaps?
>>
>>7621743
Also, could you be slightly more specific regarding Bloom and Frye's works on Blake? Did you mean Bloom's "Blake's Apocalypse"? And Frye's "Fearful Symmetry"? Both of them are on libgen.

http://gen.lib.rus.ec/search.php?req=frye+blake&open=0&view=simple&phrase=1&column=def
>>
>>7621733
"Fearful Symmetry" is Frye's book
"Blake's Apocalypse: A Study in Poetic Argument" is Bloom's.

Also by Bloom:
The Literary Criticism of John Ruskin
The Visionary Company: A Reading of English Romantic Poetry
A Map of Misreading
Wallace Stevens: The Poems of our Climate
Agon: Towards a Theory of Revisionism

anything you can find is very appreciated!

I've been looking for Stain by Rikki Ducornet

If as I assme you're just seeding from your own crappy connection, try medium-sized files: with everybody using a seedbox they'll usually have filled up smaller files before your client is even aware of there being a leecher. If the file is big enough you might get to seed a part or two before the download is completed by the superseeders. But don't go too big, they scare people because of ratio and they'll get them elsewhere.

Of course the easiest is still to upload stuff yourself, but in all cases you might need to wait a long while before getting any hits.
>>
>>7621703
>>7622783

Don't bother freeleeching. Find audiobooks, sort by snatchers with 0 uploads and put them into audiobook bay and kat.cr. Search for the identical files then cross seed these (I made about 12 GB doing this today promoting me to elite. )
>>
You can also cross seed non retail books. This is because the majority come off kat.cr or libgen. Sort textbooks by snatchers, observe the ones with 0 uploaders then find identical files to cross seed. Try to do this with the bigger files and you'll have an enormous buffer in no time.

Well don't I feel like an idiot now. Thanks bruv.

I thought they'd announced they weren't giving any upload credit for torrents that weren't snatched before the day the tracker came back up...
If anyone needs to do this, hurry up. People aren't going to be anywhere near as download-happy once the freeleech ends.
>>
>>7622848
Azw3 is amazon kindle (usually digital purchase) ripped ebook. Open it in Calibre :)

>>7622854
When I cross-seed I download it from somewhere else. So as long as I grab it from somewhere other than Bibliotik and tell my client not to download anything (and anyway there's 0 seeders so there's like 0 risk of accidentally freeloading myself) then I get the full upload credit because Bibliotik doesn't know where I got it from. Also it brings dead torrents back to life.

Well, with books it's like that. They offer huge amount of material in small files, so when you initially offer them out, you may have small to zero interest, but then again just having it out huge. I know I'm not interested in a lot of stuff, my ebook collection right now is huge enough that It would last me few lifetimes with things in it that I doubt I'll ever even look at, but I've also encountered instances where I was suddenly very interested in certain work, was looking for it all over the internet, and then I'd realise I had it all the time in my collection that I downloaded from obscure place a decade ago.

Sort of an odd request, being a general subject request instead of specific titles.

Any works by, or about Caodaism?

I would need any works to be in English, unfortunately.

I've been going through the OWC catalog, I'd estimate we're missing around 300-350 titles, possibly more.

>>
>>7624563
apparently it got ddosed... the free leach is only temporary
>>
>>7623429
No it's about building up a directory of uploads. I myself uploaded and seeded 119 books to the site. The only way to reach the official thread on what is to upload and to have a source of uploads (overdrive). 99% of Bib's entire library is probably sourced from 3 autists who upped 2000+ books each.

question for you guys, in general, do you prefer oxford world classics or penguin editions? which are usually better translated and have more bang for your buck?
>>
Any of these by chance?

Dyer, Christopher - Standards of Living in the Later Middle Ages
Hanawalt, Barbara - The Ties that Bound: Peasant Families in Medieval England
Norton Critical Edition of the English Bible, King James Version (volumes 1 and 2)
Ross and McLaughlin - The Portable Medieval Reader
Boissonade, P. - Life and Work in Medieval Europe
Bloch, Marc - French Rural History
>>
>>7624749
I prefer Oxford World's Classics, the quality is consistently good.

With Penguin the quality varies, some are very good, some are subpar, generally it depends on the popularity of the work getting the treatment.
>>
>>7624292
nope

>>7624131
no title = no service

>>7624749
Usually OWC, Penguin aims to be as cheap as possible

>>7624786
none
>>
>>7624749
A good question; a dl of the Penguin collection to go along with the OWC one would help me figure out an answer.

It all depends on edition. Oxfords Milton's Paradise Lost. Is blank transcript of the poem (since noone needs annotation, all right! actually quote by P.P. from introduction) with Pullman shitting up his own philosophy before each book. Absolutely disgusting.

>>
>>7625054

No idea, but it's in that set. Published by Oxford Univerity Press.

The above statement was a joke but this is the true passage from introduction that almost made me throw up:

>A correspondent once told me a story—which I’ve never been able to trace, and I don’t know whether it’s true—about a bibulous, semi-literate, ageing country squire two hundred years ago or more, sitting by his fireside listening to Paradise Lost being read aloud. He’s never read it himself; he doesn’t know the story at all; but as he sits there, perhaps with a pint of port at his side and with a gouty foot propped up on a stool, he finds himself transfixed. Suddenly he bangs the arm of his chair, and exclaims ‘By God! I know not what the outcome may be, but this Lucifer is a damned fine fellow, and I hope he may win!’ Which are my sentiments exactly.
>I’m conscious, as I write this introduction to the poem, that I have hardly any more pretensions to scholarship than that old gentleman. Many of my comparisons will be drawn from popular literature and film rather than from anything more refined. Learned critics have analysed Paradise Lost and found in it things I could never see, and related it to other works I have never read, and demonstrated the truth of this or that assertion about Milton and his poem that it would never have occurred to me to make, or, having made, to think that I could prove it. But this is how I read this great work, and all I can do is describe
that way of reading.
>>
