Non-Anglo anons, do you read books in English or in your own language??
I'm French, and I refuse to even touch the English language. Don't bother reading it, it is a disgusting monger language.

If they were written originally in my own language, I read them in my own language. The same with English. For languages I cannot read I use either an English or Spanish (my mother tongue) translation depending on the edition and how close the other language is to either English or Spanish (e.g. I read Pessoa in a Spanish translation, but I would read Goethe in an English one).
Only books originally written on english
If I read translations I always go with the Swedish translation because my Swedish is better than my english. I try to read easier stuff in English if English is the original language.
Stuff like Orwell, Salinger, Bram Stoker I can read in English but Dostoyevsky translated to English would be way to difficult.
If the book is originally in my own language than ill read it. If its originally in English ill read it in English. For anything else I just get what is convenient.

Are you me? I've actually skipped on buying tons of books because I'm in inland Mexico right now, and I refuse to read the Spanish versions of native English books.

A mix of both. It depends on the author and/or on the quality of the translation.
