Where should I read if I want to learn more about Eastern philosophy (particularly concepts such as yin and yang, feng shui, etc.)? Preferably with some meditative undertones as well.

Basically books that deal with Buddhist peace of mind and self type shit.

eastern 'philosophy' is just vague new age bullshit and statist propaganda. Oriental people's might be cunning, but they lack true intelligence and creativity, thats why they tend to follow statist and socialist philosophies

Read The Tao te Ching, The Tao of Meditation and The Tao of Tai Chi Chuan.

Also, Sam Harris's "Waking Up" is very good for getting into meditation.
>>
Tao Te Ching
The writings of Chuang Tsu
The I Ching

These are really the basics and you can branch from there into Zen Buddhism, Tao mysticism, and shinto.

>yin and yang, feng shui, etc.
>Buddhist peace of mind and self
These are very different things. The first are from the Chinese Yijing (Book of Changes), which was written something like 500 years or so before Buddhism entered China.

For the Yijing, there's a good introduction in Nylan, The Five "Confucian" Classics- it includes a specific discussion of yin-yang / Five Phases theory. Also I see there's a book called The I Ching: A Biography by Richard Smith.

I had a class on Chinese women's (read: prostitute's) writing. It was better than I initially thought it would be.

Alright OP, here is my recommended list of "Eastern philosophy". I will also recommend the translator you NEED to read, as I'm assuming you cannot read classical Chinese, Japanese, or Sanskrit.

Tao Te Ching (D.C. Lau trans.). Mass majority of the translations of Tao Te Ching you find online or in bookstores are newage bullshit translations.
The Zhuangzi (Burton Watson trans)
Mencius (D.C. Lau trans)
Xunzi (D.C. Lau trans)

I would recommend against reading Alan Watts writings on Zen or Daoism. If you want to read Zen related writings, I would suggest D.T. Suzuki (some books). Zen Flesh, Zen bones is a good collection of Koans.

If you want something more "modern" in Eastern philosophy, i would suggest Nishida Kitaro and Keiji Nishitani writings.
