So I've read my fair share of McCarthy's books and I feel Outer Dark or Child of God are at least as good as his more /lit/ stuff, if not better. How do you feel about them, since I don't ever see them mentioned on here?
Suttree > Blood Meridian > All the Pretty Horses > Child of God > Cities of the Plain > The Crossing > Outer Dark > The Orchard Keeper
That being said I thoroughly enjoyed every single one of McCarthy's books.
Look at this suave fuck.

Dat milf tho
Child of God and Outer Dark are both fucking amazing.

They are both great. Child of God is my favorite McCarthy. I enjoy the somewhat leaner prose, which I think is better at clearly conveying the imagery. I also like the short episodic chapters and the weird little inter-chapters.

McCarthy is the GOAT NEET

This is accurate. Though I'd say there should be a power gap after Suttree >= Blood Meridian

Word.
>Be 82
>Still never had a real job
>Bang hot bitches
>Make bank
>Write novels
>Don't even use punctuation
>Get a post-apocalyptic story featured on a daytime talk show for housewives
How does one get so based?

>Still never had a real job

I've read all McCarthy's narrative prose, need to read Gardener's Son and the Stonemason, and Child of God was easily my least favorite.
What do you see in it that I apparently missed? I want to like it.

Its an edgy serial killer novel, more easily enjoyed if you take it like that

Oh, my bad.
He's had one real job then.
