What is /lit/'s opinion of making a personal journal? What are some of the things you'd write in your journal, how often, and what would motivate you to keep writing in one?

I use a journal for many things. Mostly as a daily log to keep track of shit, and a place to keep notes I make on books, and notes I make to myself, whatever they may be.
I keep a journal of my thoughts about minorities I encounter during my commute.
I hope no one ever reads it.

Good idea. I use one for story ideas, bits of dialogue or scenes that I come up with spur-of-the-moment and for writing down bits of books I feel inspired by/hope to plagiarize.
