How about Terry Pratchett? The books about witches from the Discworld series. Equal Rites, Wyrd Sisters, Witches abroad, Lords and Ladies, Carpe Jugulum and I can't remember if there are more....also the later series about Tiffany Atching (Wee Free Men etc. It is aimed at a younger audience but I still liked it for what is tho, I gave the books to my younger sister for christmas) They are all awesome books.
