If it's becoming less popular, it doesn't matter, they've already sold a ludicrous number of copies. When it came out in 2007 it became a surprise bestseller. Lots of people with aspirations out there. That's actually when people started going after them. They became too successful and so famous that people had to start taking shots. I'm sure their reputation unfairly outpaces translators who are just as good, but that's no reason to diminish their translations.
