bookzz>btdigg>mobilism>alibris>Amazon>library.

My library is privately endowed and on a small rural network, it has nothing I want, otherwise it would be 1.
>>
used books almost always. Goodwill and Amazon marketplace are where it's at.

buying old books. In the social department stores (is this the right word) nice editions that once cost about 20 Euros are sold for 50 cent, I've got most of my books from there. I always get the books I want, I just have to wait and always browse thoroughly.
>>
New books. I like to read in bed knowing some role hasn't laid their hands on it.

What if I want to support small local shops by buying used books?

Enjoy your romance novels and NYT best sellers.
>>
I'm a pretty big seller on Amazon and I just want you guys to know that I've put my dick inside every single book that I've ever sold. I only shower a couple times per week too.

I never find anything of worth in the big chain book shops where I live, it's all just flavour of the month shit. All the best books I have on my shelf are from used bookshops.
>>
>>7577345
I went to a local store of mine and there was a Japanese dictionary and The Bell Curve side by side.
>>
>>7577262
they don't write books, they don't need support
they're just making money
>>
>>7577434
The guy who runs my local 2nd bookshop is an author though.

Literally just picked up Stoner, Absalom Absalom, and Carpenter's Gothic from my local book shop

I've "unlawfully" purloined 60+ books from my Uni's library.

if i'm just ingesting literature i have no problem with the $0.01 + 3.99 shipping used books on amazon

i will go for a new paperback if i'm really interested or know i will take notes

new hardback if it leaves an impression on me and i feel that i would want to display it on a shelf
>>

I always buy new books if possible, but I browse used book stores looking for well kept books.

There is something literary about spending your last 10 dollars on a couple books at a used book store.

I do it far too often. Once I bought a $14 book on my credit card...It was the only thing I used it for and then I forgot about it for a while. Anyway, I got a statement a year later saying I owed $43.

Fucking usury.
