Tbh the only erotica I've ever read was by Anne Rice (Awakening of Sleeping Beauty or something). It had BDSM (obviously) and was OK read. Her writing gave me lots of boners if that's what you are looking for. Quasi-recomendable.

That is definitely a problem, and I used to obsess over it as well. On the one hand, the ugly truth is that it is actually true. On some deep level, women really do feel repulsed by a guy who is fundamentally submissive or meek, in his personality or spirit. Even women who seem to really like submissive guys, sexually or otherwise - there is usually something wrong with that type, and the more benign it seems, the more wrong it is. From girls explicitly looking to actually see you as less human than them (mental problems, safeword-ignoring sadists), or girls looking for more of a child than a partner (emotional problems, looking to date an idea rather than a person).
But on the other hand, it's also completely untrue in my experience, because paradoxically you can sort of be alpha about being a sub. You can be aggressive and outgoing and forthcoming and exceptional and interesting in how you tell a girl you want her to sit on your face. You can turn femdom into mutual sexual fun rather than a weird solo masturbatory activity, for a fetish that only one of you has. The latter is how women intuitively expect femdom to go.
I think the subs that women tend to hate are the ones who conform to their instinct that a sexually submissive man must necessarily be a personally submissive one, and that femdom is something they as women can never be "engaged" with. If you sort of approach your submission like a co-equal sex act, and act like a human being about your weird fetishes, it goes a long way.
One trick I've found is to explain your kinks (to her or yourself, whichever you need) in terms of taboo. You don't want to be a slave because you're some weird mild-mannered guy who thinks slavery would be an interesting vocation. You want to be a slave precisely because it's so fucking wrong, because you are an upstanding proud human being with dignity, and subverting that gives you a raging boner, and the more shame you feel about how much it turns you on, the hotter it is to give into it. But your dignity still comes first, because you are capable of keeping it roleplay-only. You're not one of those financial dom types who engages in genuine one-sided exploitation or humiliation.
