I got my dad a copy of his favorite book (pic related) for Christmas, and I wanted to make the gift a little more personal. Any tips on writing inscriptions?
Make sure to write inside the book and not on the cover or on things that are not the book
why doesn't your dad have a copy of his favourite book

good idea. I didn't even think of that

lmao
OP here, i started it off with a quote from the book: "The best books are those that tell you what you already know." Not sure where im gonna go from there.

No no, definitely wrote in the book. Writing in a book makes it more personal. Say something like:
"Hey dad, I know you love this one. Just like big brother, im always watching you and emulating everything you do. I look up to you dad. You've been a great father to me and, one day, I hope to father my kids like you did to me. So when I see you talking to Ms. Simmons while washing the car and playfully squirting water in her direction, I can't help but think: hey, you know, I bet mom would like to hear about this. I bet mom, who thinks Ms. Simmons is a 'common slut', would absolutely love to hear about the time I went up grab wrapping paper from the supply closet last Christmas and found you two deep in eachother's anuses, fucking like the dirty animals you are. Yeah, I bet mom and her dad's money would love to hear about that. Merry Christmas dad and I swear to fucking God if I see you so much as look in her direction again, I'll let everything spill.

Have a couple like those, but from earlier, like the 70's, one of them right after the carnation revolution. I like to think that they did not dispose of the book willingly.
