Madame Reality Hunger by Gustav Shields

Middle class French house-wife, constrained by pressures of society, domesticity, and narrative realism, rebels against her cultural bonds and endeavors to tear down the window dressing of picturesque scene, bland character details, and the plot that imprisons her to reach the philosophical and artistic core of her life. And since her husband is composed of nothing but bland detail, bridging the gap between fiction and reality to reach truth (and sexual bliss) does involve killing her marriage. But the Madame goes a bridge too far, uncovering the auto-biographical core of fictional narration, stripping away so much of the creative process that she in fact becomes Gustave Shields, a woman now trapped in a half assed mash-up of two men's bodies. The Catholic Church, initially planning to pull the author into an immorality trial because of the work that has just devoured itself, must now try the consciousness of the character herself. S/he must now artistically defend her/his own being(s) before the court of God in a sort of hyper-meta law and order type scenario. Can the Madame tear down the artifices of religion, conformity, marriage, gender, and artistic tradition while still keeping a grip on the reality she craves as bad as a hot affair?
