Any good vampire books out there? I know someone whose really into Anne Rice. I'd like to find them a book in this genre that isn't young adult tier or at least something different that lit likes

If you are /tg/ inclined you should try Vampire the Requiem fiction books by Greg Stolze.

I've read a few of the Let-the-Right-One-In-guys books and they're pretty good but not the one with zombies imo. Dracula by Bram Stoker is an obvious book, short. Rice isn't so bad at times. Reading doesn't have to be super serious.
You should watch the movie Nosferatu (1922) too, at some point. Excellent movie, very nightmarish.
I'll just leave this here.
Bye!

Varney the Vampire, pre-dates Dracula and is more entertaining and endearing
Vampire Archives: Most Complete Volume of Vampire Tales Ever Told

Vampyr and the 1931 Dracula are way better imo

Vampyre sucks ass, though, especially compared to Fragments of a Vampire Novel by Byron, which originated at the same time and has simlar themes and motifs

guinea pigs, too

The Saga of Darren Shan is surprisingly good. Plus the obvious Dracula. And if you want a good film try Stoker, there's no vampires in it but it borrows heavily from the genre.
Nope.
Sunshine by Robin McKinley. McKinley is quite a well-respected genre author and this is definitely a bit different in that it's quite uplifting in tone. It's not fine literature, but neither is Anne Rice and it's certainly better than all the YA dreck out there. If you're open to DVDs, consider Only Lovers Left Alive or Byzantium, two pretty decent vampire films from the last few years.
The Ouroboros Cycle, by Falksen.

It's not great, but it's fun and worth a read. Esp if someone is interested in vampires..
