If Soumission is anti-anything it's anti- Mr. and Mrs. Houellebecq.

Would not say it's pro-islamic but not anti-islamic either. He uses Islam as a tool to further his novel, and does so quite well. It works as something Denett would call an 'intuition pump' as well, because it is such an important development in the current day and age.
God I really liked this book, despite its shortcomings I think Houellebecq is getting steadily better.
He doesn't exactly like islam, even if it's moderate. He portrays them all as religious extremist that won't allow kafir to be regular citizens when they're in power. Being a terrorist is wrong but beating your 9 year old wife is ok.
Since he hates modern socialist societies even more he thinks an islamic state would be an improvement, especially conservatives that would find most of their values in islam.
Remember when the hero goes in some ultra kitsch waffle shop and cries because he realises this marvel of european civilization will certainly disappear.
