>unironically reading Orwell
But Anon, don't you realize society is just like 1984!
>Call my boss a faggot nigger son of a Jew
>Get fired
Orwell was right all I had to do was listen
"read some orwell bro" leon trotsky

Why?
He writes very good YA fiction anon.

>he hasn't read Homage to Catalonia
>>7471474
That's the worst one
>>7471395
Orwell is good but Douglas Adams is better. Both ate pretty goog.
>>7471395
>ironically reading anything
I just read Homage to Catalonia and I thought it was a good book. In conclusion, I think you are dumb.
>>7471486
>this is what low iq brainlets actually believe
Anything popular is fedora and should be avoided at all costs, remember only read things that share your point of view and unpopular authors

this notion needs to be examined in closer detail
whose benefit is this act of ironic reading for? do you need an audience first - if so, why so insecure?
>earnestly reading hemingway

Fuck you

George Orwell is more relevant than ever, to be honest. His commitment to truth and freedom should be the proper cornerstones of any intellectually and morally conscientious individual, and the fact that even after George Orwell politically minded people can still operate by an ends justifies the means policy is a despairing one. George Orwell literally exposed the disingenuous, the deceitful and the hypocrites, the people who flourish around us today deluding themselves that they are doing the right thing. If honesty and integrity are to be tipped at, you can tip your fedora on tumblr, you moral relativist, cunt practitioner of sophist memes.
1984 is good but brave new world... man it's even more accurate!
>>7471480
this. wtf why read something unless you want to or need to or something.
>>7471877
ZOMG 1984 is literally le SJW!
>>7471877
Alas! You certainly will be attacked for your views, but that simply emphasizes the truth of what you have spoken! There is nothing that upsets the slave more than being told he can simply break free of his chains! A finer post I have never found on this website, one of the last true bastions of free speech.
>>7471902
I didn't have 1984 in mind. Homage to Catalonia is more to the point. I appreciate your kneejerk reaction to elevate yourself into a superior posture to anything you encounter. The fact remains, though, that you're a fucking dumb cunt.

Is there anything actually more fedora worthy than meme posting? The people I knew through high school who took enjoyment in memes -- "you lost the game!" -- were the epitome of fedora. One of them literally came in wearing one once, although he insisted it was a trilby. You have anonymity to protect you, you know, and we judge your posts on the merit of your posts alone, although they have none, but if we could see the grander picture, what would emerge would surely be the image of a deeply pathetic loser. Instead, certainty of that knowledge is yours alone.
>>7471963
You've put the memeposter in his place. He was not match for a man of letters such as yourself. Heh, perhaps next time he'll realize that /ilt/ is no mere game...
>>7471970
*Sheaths pen*
Pshh.. nothing personnel... kid.
>>7471987
>unironically using the word discourse to describe posting on an internet forum in a troll thread
>>7471997
To do something ironically is to do something in a half hearted ashamed manner. To avoid doing it because others do it and therefore it's cringeworthy is cowardly and weak. I'd be more embarrassed to be using meme arrows, which are monopolized upon by the braindead like you, who can't communicate effectively and struggle to form coherent sentences. Be honest, to be honest, and it's pretty clear the entire makeup of your kind is insecurity, stupidity and cowardice.
>>7472019
Are you going to police posts to /lit/ for the rest of your life or are you going to leave?
>>7471395
try reading 1984 as a polemical, reactionary critique of feminism
>doing anything "ironically"
>>7472027
I'm responding to posts responding to me. That is how a discussion progresses. I recognise that you and a lot of other posters apparently seem to believe 4chan is a vacuum in which no one discusses anything and everyone just shouts their opinion, the one with the dankest memes shouting loudest, and that is a thread, with posters bouncing from thread to thread just shouting their uninformed opinions often not even considered and just posted for the sake of posting. No wonder you and posters like you are baffled. You should try contributing high quality posts and engaging in discussion; it's enriching.
