Why is /lit/ the only board on this site (out of the other media boards, them being /co/, /mu/, /tv/, and /v/) to have any taste in anything?
we 're inteligent people
>>7453515
Literature has the most established canon so it's easier to pretend to have taste.
>>7453518
my sides
This is clearly a place for superior people to relax and have actual intellectual and refined discussion, no other board on this petty site will give you that.
Because reading is the only one of those that actually requires effort.
We also have thousands of years of history to draw upon whereas the others only have ~100 years.
>>7453542
all of those require effort to be seriously engaged in bar MAYBE film
/co/ shouldn't count, it's /a/ tier
Mah Wallacino. Mah Panchon. Mah superior taste. Oh i am so smart. In no way I partake in circlejerking reddit style.
>>7453659
again if you want to engage in them seriously you have to put in effort
no idea why you specified pop music
>>7453662
clearly anally frustrated
next time try not to make it so obvious
>>7453542
surely mu has ~500+?
>/mu/
>having taste

Classic works of literature are easier to get into for book plebs than it does for music plebs to explore the great tradition of Western Art music. For /lit/erature, it's easier to find gateways into the great classics because /lit/ plebs are at least already used to reading books, while many people in /mu/ just play music in the background while browsing 4chan, so for anything too complex, like even the plebiest classical music, they don't pick up on what makes it good and just complain about how only fedoras listen to classical music and that the only people honest about their music taste is those who listen to rap music.
I'll admit that I go to /mu/ for /classical/, but that's about it (and I'm pretty sure that most of the people who post there are /lit/ anyway)

Not everything on 4chan has to be tranny revenge porn and racism and gore and shouting down you know.
>>7453812
What's wrong with rap music?
>>7453828
>I go to /mu/ for /classical/
>not /HHG/
get a load of this faggot
>>7453812
>the only people honest about their music taste is those who listen to rap music
lol yeah there's NEVER been anyone who pretended to like rap
It's because the board is called /lit/ (literature) and not /book/ or something. I'm serious, 99% of why the board is the way it is is because of the name
