What's your favorite book with less than 250 pages?

Almost all of my favorite books are less than 250 pages.

In Watermelon Sugar, maybe.
>>
Caligula.
>>
Variations in size and font and typesetting means 250 is pretty broad. If you want to ask what's your favorite short book just ask that or say like 100-150 pages...

that's okay.

I've tried reading the Seidinsticker translation but can't make any sense of it for some reason. I've tried twice and still don't know if it's him or me. I read Japanese literature constantly so I'm thinking it's on him

He has some very awkward phrasings, I think. His version just doesn't sound natural.

Almost everything Woolf wrote is below 200 pages.
>>
>>7444124
Not him but The Waves is a bit longer. I think To the Lighthouse is around 125-150 and The Waves I'd 250-300. It's been a while since I've read Woolf though so I may be a little off.

it doesn't matter how many pages.
>>

In thinking about this, most of my favourite books are no more than 300 pages. So many books now just sprawl all over the place, but they don't have the content to sustain a lengthy book. In the past, novels of 200-300 pages seem to be the standard. Did publishers start dumping editors, or do they figure that people think it'll be value for money to buy some bloated doorstopper?
