What is /lit/'s opinion on Twilight? Should I start with the first book or is there a better starting point?

Start with The Complete Manual of Suicide.

The gay kid on it is pretty hot, I gotta admit.
Robert Patinson is a good actor and i think he's a cool guy to be honest
Start with the first book. But why? The only reason I read the series was for school and I was a lazy shit back then and these were worth the points

So is Kirsten Stewert. Twilight is a decision that will haunt the both of them for the rest of their lives. It almost broke Patterson, the poor guy.

It will forever hunt them.
He seems like a jolly decent chap.

Are you actually asking? Firstly, let me establish that i'm unlike most of /lit/. I love hitchiker's guide, and everything else douglas adams did. Chuck palahniuk has written two good books and a handful of "eh" as far as i'm concerned. I've never read hemingway pynchon or infinite jest, and I read for fun. The point is that when I tell you that Twilight is the shallowest, shittiest, saddest excuse for storytelling that has ever existed, you know that that's not just my default response to anything accessible to the public. It is, without a doubt, a shining monument to how stupid and shallow american youth are, how dumb and delusional our society is in terms of love and human relationships, and how little actual content has to go into something before the general public all calls it a masterpiece because it's the only thing they've read this decade.
