I don't know what you do already, but a scheduled and metered life is really worthwhile and adds things to the day that feel meaningful and complete.
Working out, memorizing poetry at breakfast, studying for long bouts, volunteering, giving blood, all that jazz just, at the end of the day, feels real nice when you stack it all up in your head and say "today was nice". And try to replicate "nice" tomorrow.
Aside from adding those "better" distractions, knowing what you're reading for, and having some abstracted goal at the top of your mind is always good and makes you feel less empty at the end of things.
Basically just become a literary workaholic lol
I'll probably be called the spook master by some polemic, but it really does feel good to do this stuff (maybe it actually is a little egoistic).
