Is science fiction the genre for man-children?
>>7428003
All genres not explicitly for children are for adult-children, including literary fiction.
Is posting the same shitpost over and over again the hobby of boring people?
Science fiction and fantasy. Yes.
>"I don't want some dumb moral in my books, I want to be entertained"
>>7428003
I think reactionary alt-hist/prophetic novels or Japanese light novels suit that more.
>>7428011
Is the joke that sci-fi books are often bashing you over the head with some moral?
reading any made up story is for manchildren.
>>7428003
4chan is for man-children.
>>7428016
the joke is that they think the concept of a 'moral' is relevant
all genre fiction is for manchildren
>>7428003
No, that is fantasy.

>"I don't want some dumb moral in my books, I want to be entertained"
But annon this is exactly the mind set of someone that knows jack-shit about books Fiction is for entertainment purposes, deeper philosophical questions are for non-fiction books. Only an absolute pleb would think you read fiction for 'morals'.
That guys hat and fingerless glove are shopped on. That's just a normal fat guy.

apparently his name is snoo
>>7428003
No, that would be military fiction and military history.
>but I know veterans who like that stuff
Arrested development at a meaningful time in their lives. Literal man children.
>>7428003
Oh yeah. Because books like "the left hand of darkness" its all about explosions and super machines.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with military history.
>hurr Napoleon was a fag, what's the big fuckin deal
>Gustavus Adolphus? Sounds like a dildo, man
>the fuck is an echelon?
>>7428304
Military history shouldn't be discarded, but there's a distinct trend to the kind of person who fixates on it.
>>7428307
Well duh. What kind of woman would read it? None.
And what kind of man would read it? A mind-over-matter nerdling. That's no different from the average readership of any other genre.
>Mom! I did it again Mom! I did the Reddit meme!
>Mom! I did it again Mom! I started a literary vs. genre argument!
>Mom! I did it again Mom! I shitposted!
OP's desperate attempt at self-validation: the thread.
Science fiction is just window dressing. As a scifi writer I can say that the character development and moral decisions Are the centerpiece. Whether you on a Spanish galleon in1485 with a pirate or a solar system jumping, scout ship with captain comet of the 3rd space fleet, it's all secondary to how the story and characters are presented.
>when he reads fiction
>>7428011
Want morals?
>>7428662
How is sci-fi in Asimov's Robot series window dressing?
