WHAT I LEARNED ON /LIT/ IS -
NOTHING! I LEARNED NOTHING!
I see that those who are lonely have no morality. At first perhaps this causes them to suffer but soon they find techniques and methods of coping with that loss. They turn everything into a farce and play on this philosophy that "life is a sick joke to be laughed at."
I suppose what I've learnt is that Williams encapsulated the lonely soul in his character, Charles Walker.
>>7424807
I've learned about Stirner, where to start with philosophy and literature, and how to piss off /pol/tards.
I have taught /lit/, rather than learn from it.
>>7424897
Then triforce faggot.
John Green is a kek and A Song of Ice and Fire is the worst series to ever exist.
>le more she drank le more she shat
>>7424897
I only learned from you once I think. Fuck off.
>>7425055
>A Song of Ice and Fire is the worst series to ever exist
when did /lit/ teach you that?
>>7424807
Go out and embrace life and make meaning for myself.
Thanks /lit/. :)
>>7424807
Men and whites are le shitlord reactionaries and need to go back to /pol/
I learned nobody here actually reads
someone on /lit/ may have recommended down and out in paris and london
that's about it
>>7425930
best Orwell book
that and Burmese days
>>7425933
his nonfiction is downright glorious. the road to wigan pier and homage to catalonia are also both killer
no one here knows what they're talking about
I'll never start a public talk with such glorious banter
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHP1OwivAL0
I won't lie /lit/ has fed me alot of knowledge.
>>7425945
>when that lady with the shitty hairband tries to say she's not as pretentious as other people
>actually saying "phantomic residue"
Jesus Christ IDEOLOGY IN ACTION, MY GOTT.
books can be memes and that makes them bad or something
I learned that you don't need to read to talk about literature.
>>7425945
You are a... peeg
>>7425958
i loled
Discovered zizek
reading stuff you don't like to seem better than your peers > reading stuff you do like just to enjoy the act of reading.
>>7426155
>EVERYONE IS SECRETLY ME
>IF THEY SAY THEY ENJOY THINGS I DONT LIKE THEY'RE LYING
nice self-defense mechanism bruh
>>7425966
And the fucking university posers are all raised inside /lit/.
because one sounds smart, does not necessarily mean they know how to articulate ideas properly
>>7426162
I don't think you know what anon was saying.
>>7426171
no, i'm perfectly aware of what he was saying. he thinks we're all posturing when we talk about non trash books. he simply can't imagine people like things he doesn't or can't.
>>7426162
Maybe, but I can't believe that everybody likes exclusively reading such thick, heavy books all the time. And of course I'm not talking about everybody, but there are a lot of people here on /lit/ that are either trolling or fedora-tier enlightened.
>>7426180
Yes, a lot plebs pretend not to be, but that's not an excuse to be pleb.
i learned you guys are the coolest peeps on 4chan! lellllll111
>>7426183
That sentence doesn't make sense.
>>7426180
> but I can't believe that everybody likes exclusively reading such thick, heavy books all the time

>>7426193

>>7426196

I learned that science is a spook, which made me feel better about being too dumb to get into STEM
>>7426166
took me so long to understand this. now I feel myself like shit but I know the others aren't that better.
>>7426534

>>7424807
Not all of 4chan is utter crap and chock full of idiots.
It's only about half of /lit/ that are idiots.
>>7424833
>I see that those who are lonely have no morality. At first perhaps this causes them to suffer but soon they find techniques and methods of coping with that loss. They turn everything into a farce and play on this philosophy that "life is a sick joke to be laughed at."
I didn't need /lit/ to undersand this, but tou're absolutely right.
>>7424807
/lit/ probably changed my political position from a leftwing position to a strong centred one.
>w-well thanks i guess
>>7425913
Pretty much this
>>7424807
PURE IDEOLOGY
I learnt that Kant is all you need
>>7424807
I learned that it doesn't matter how much you read if you can't tell a good idea from a bad one.
>>7424807
I learned that I should form my own opinion and shouldn't get excited about a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals no matter how many times they use the word "pleb".
I learned that I am the greatest Spook of them all.
I learned that just like on /mu/, /v/, and /cgl/ that no one actually does the thing that the board is about and only complains about the subject they all have no idea what they are talking about.
I know cliffnote memes of all the famous books that millions of people loved and hundreds of reviewers praised, only to have my opinion be shaped by some anons on 4chan telling me that Catcher in the Rye is topkek and that war and that catch 22 is a shit show.
Thanks /lit/, I dont even want to read anymore. I don't want to do anything that takes mental effort. I'm going to go marathon RWBY or something equally appalling because every time I come here I really want to burn churches and break keyboards.
>>7429562

Can't speak for Road to Wigan Pier, but Homage to Catalonia is definitely great
>>7429569
Fuck you spook
that it doesn't matter what the subject matter of your internet forum banter is, you're still wasting time and being a piece of shit
ill never be happy in life
The christian thing to do is insult strangers on the internet.
>>7425945
>all that sniffing so close to the mic
glorious... and scho on.
I learned the lengths people will go to to sound smart, and that tripfaging is only okay if you are a girl.
>>7424823
Always makes me kek
I learnt I have a deep unfulfillable need for a novelisation of Yu-Gi-Oh by Nietzsche.
>>7425941
Personally, I liked Keep the Aspidistra Flying as well. And his essay Politics and the English Language has some pretty decent insight.
Existentialism!
it's ok to be failure because spooks
>think I'll browse /lit/ for a while
>all the threads are shit
>whelp back to books
Don't know why I bother anymore

/lit/ actually replaces the time where I'm supposed to read.

EXISTENTIALISM!!!!
>>7432205
Me too anon.
>>7432205
I've been twice and going third time now. There's nothing to miss. You can learn more with 7 full days just reading at a local library instead of a whole semester of redundant information retention. But that won't fill your pockets, just your head.
I've learnt about how detesting religious people can be a way to vent because they make it so easy. It's fulfilling.
I've learnt that shitposting gets old.
I've learnt hat philosophy is readable.
I've learnt to never let anybody try and trick you twice into thinking the Bible has any literary merit whatsoever.
I've learnt to appreciate those not so well of as yourself and thus not to laugh inwardly when people say they believe in the Sky Fairy.
I've learnt to tell those who link you to other websites in attempt to strengthen their "arguments" to fuck off.
I've learnt to make Jesus jokes about literature that appeal to faith and community as their selling point.
I've learnt to get over my painful separation from religion by atheistposting whilst at the same time detesting both religious and irreligious posters (obviously the former much more so).
I have learnt to accept that which I can not change.
>>7432880
Pleb.
>>7424833
I learnt this from r9k
>>7424807
PROSE IS PATRISH AND PLOT IS FOR PLEBS
START WITH THE GREEKS
"NO DISCERNIBLE TALENT"
EVERYTHING IS A SPOOK
that polytheism always has been, and always will be superior to monotheism
I'm still an ancap but I learn't effective tools to go full contrarian and piss off my ideological comrades. Thank you Max Stirner.
>>7433033
>an ancap

I learned that to be a man, one must have honour. honour and a peeeeenis.
>>7424864
