You think great expectations is the worst book ever written? That's a pretty bold statement.
>>7417358
Well maybe not the worst... Just bad

What do you think is so bad about it, OP? Genuine question. Give us some substance, if you're not merely blowing off steam about getting a bad grade on a book report or something.
Sounds like bullshit but it's true. When my Dad read this studying English at Cambridge in the 60s, his prof called him a spastic for liking it.

It's just boring, it has a terrible plot eat the list goes on
>>7417766
yes rather insightful and convincingI mean sure Great Expectations isn't exactly Bleak House but come on OP

I made this thread to see some good arguments for and against great expectations
>>7417824
You first, then.

I don't have any that's why I made this thread

Dickens is just too fucking English. It's not even some "get the white men out of here" thing, he just embodies everything I hate about the English. The English aren't even that bad, I loved Jane Eyre, which is pretty English, but Dickens just sucks.
I liked this book, I always forget how freaky the storyline is. It's like some S. Korean shit, storyline is has a lot in common w/ Oldboy. If for nothing else, it's p original, or was and originated a very lasting plot element

strong feeling this is a HW thread. If not, it's just boring. at least it's actually about a book unlike most of the threads.
