If you do, go all out. Learn a little calligraphy, and find a good pen. Use florid, exaggerated language. Essentially, be an anachronism. For some reason women seem to like that

This is bad advice and doesn't take into account that people (yes women are people too) differ. My gf loved the one I wrote for her.
The only real bit advice I can give you is to be sincere. Describe how she actually makes you feel and not what you think sounds nice. Oh and, for God's sake, avoid clichés like the plague.
