Why do you even read /lit/?
>>
what kind of question is that

because i like it
>>
>>7413874
Because of the chicks.
>>
So I can know how to best use commas to disambiguate questions.
>>
It passes the time and in my experience is more stimulating than a lot of other stuff i could be doing instead.

I can't stand the shit people say in real life. I can't stand the shit people comment on the internet. I can't stand the way people text. I can barely stand the way people e-mail. Literature is the last bastion of well thought out constructed writing. Fuck this board too. First and last time I'll come to this cesspool.
>>
>>7413895
>last time I'll come to this cesspool.
Good riddance.
>>
>>7413874
When I am not doing housework or working, I can either drink (which I do), work out (which I do), or read or play video games.

TV and facebook make me ill to my stomach.
>>
>>7413874
I don't know why I come to this board. In the beginning when I wanted to start reading, it provided motivation and direction and I learned new things from others here, but now that I read daily, it feels like I'm just wasting time here.

I'm in that middle-stage where everything here isn't new or fresh to learn from but I'm not intelligent or knowledgeable enough to impart something of my own to others.

When I was off /lit/ for a couple of days, it was nicer because I spent my entire time reading and got through much more. It was also a more pleasurable experience.

I don't know why I come here. Nostalgia?
>>
>>7413899
On second though..
>>
>>7413919
no
you just spend more time here than reading
>>
>>7413874
Because I don't know what else to do with my time
>>
>>7413919
You come here because it's easy.
>>
>>7413919
If you arent getting good recommendations still, you arent paying attention, or arent good at sorting out shit. This thread is a good example: >>7413351

Its absolutely filled with shit and pretentiousness, but there are some legit good posts with recommendations in there.

To be a better writer
Which in turn is so I can get:

2. Recognition
3. Self-respect

Because I enjoy reading, learning about new ideas, and getting engrossed in stories or concepts?

Jesus fucking Christ, what kind of question is this?

Because people are not always available and, sometimes, there are no people at all. Reading is the only reliable companion.
>>
>>7416852
This. Reminder that many writers were neurodiverse, including Melville. It's a different way of seeing the world and should be respected instead of treated as an insult. If someone calls you autistic, feel proud because it's just as good, if not better, than being neurotypical.

I read /lit/ because /lit/ has led me to several titles and authors I wouldn't otherwise know. Occasionally there are some rather good comments here too.

I read all day usually for 6-8 hours on my days off. I come here after I stop by /sp/ and shitpost on /tv/. This place is fun, plain and simple. I also like bookshelf threads and see what others are reading because before I found /lit/ I was a Stephen King tier reader only
