So /lit/, do you have the feel that some books you just can't read in public? I've always felt that way with few books, for example the bible or the divine comedy, and was wondering if it was only me.
>just bought pic related, it is in brazil-portuguese.
I read the God Delusion at my Christian grandfather's funeral. Keks were had.

your edges shine through horizont
A guy in one of my graduate literature classes started the semester carrying around Ulysses, and ended up carrying in Infinite Jest on one of the last days.
As long as you aren't that guy you can read most things in public.

wow anon...
you're so cool...
Because the book is too big or delicate to carry around? Yes.
Because I don't want people to know I read it? No, not really.
Everyone talks about how embarrassing and cringey it is to carry around Lolita, but nobody mentions anything by de Sade. Why is this?

Shame on you. I'll celebrate the day you die.

Plebs don't know much about DeSade, but they know about Lolita being a filthy porn book.

someone's triggered

I am not triggered, I am beyond such petty emotions. I am aware that a ridiculous swine such as yourself would never be able to contemplate an attitude beyond gut reactions, but I never descend to such a level.
