Get redpilled. Mishima was gays as fuck

can you explain what that means?
Mishima, Yukio. A complete nonentity means, absolutely nothing to me. A genius.
rare shimmy coming through
Here is a link to his short story Patriotism. I recommend reading it if you haven't. Its about a soldier committing ritual suicide rather than having to fight his friends in a rebellion.

He probably could have planned his suicide a little better to be quite frank. It would have been more respectful to do it privately leaving a letter instead of giving a speech. Did make headlines though

It was deliberately plannedit like that, I doubt he would've had it any other way.
It was not just about committing suicide, it was about making a statement, a fantasy of a warrior's death and "I want to make my life a poem".

shit, i should have started confession early.
>>7389395
Maybe you should commit sudoku.
I just finished his book 'The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea' the other day, really cool book. Anybody got suggestions for what next?
Can you get his plays in English? Are they any good?
>>7389324
So fucking good.
>>7389852

Ephemeral, puffed up, love him dearly. A fraud, read all his works at age 5. Greatest prose work of 20th century, a fraud.

There's a meme infograph whose validity I can't speak for, seeing as I've yet to read Pavillion or any of the Sea of Fertility.

Homophobe who is internally oppressed and probably confused about his sexuality.

Take it from Mishima himself:
>Someone once said that homosexuals have on their faces a certain loneliness that will not come off.
Besides, in their glances flirtatiousness and the cold stare of appraisal are combined. Although the coquettish looks that women direct at the opposite sex and the appraising glances they direct at their own sex have quite separate functions, with the homosexual both are directed at one and the same person

>Get redpilled. Mishima was gays as fuck
Get brownpilled
Personally, Temple of the Golden Pavilion is my favourite Mishima.
>>7391565
Sea of Fertility is Mishima on hardmode. I've only made it through Spring Snow thus far - it's fantastic, but it's really dense and requires a pretty attentive reading. Kind of having a feel for Mishima and what he's about helps a lot going in, too, because most of his particular ways of looking at the world are explored more subtly and it would be easy to not track with parts of the emotional narrative or some of the autobiographical bits.
