I just read Winesburg, Ohio and I was blown away. I loved the small town themes. I loved the simple, but impactful writing. I just loved it. Should I read more Anderson? Where do I go next? Any recommendations for other books like this? Bonus if short stories.
Is this wizard of Oz reverse shit

Hey no worries man. If you were in Western Europe I'd have mailed it to you.
Also google: "short story cycle", on the wiki are other books of a similar structure at least. I'd also recommend What's Eating Gilbert Grape (the novel) for similar small-town feels.

Mohawk and Empire Falls by Richard Russo
Some great small town writing. Give Flannery O' Connor's short stories a try as well.
Martian chronicles by Bradbury. He even name drops winesburg, Ohio in the intro.
Obviously more sci fi but I think you'll find many parallels

His Dandelion Wine is good for small town feels too.
The Heart is a Lonely Hunter
Cannery Row by Steinbeck
Lots of Alice Munro's stories
Maybe Little, Big as well.

THIS
Anything by Carson McCullers, really. John Cheever, for that matter. You might also like Annie Dillard.
