Haha, I saw that earlier too.

I don't arrange my shelves by emotion, make unwanted references in public and I don't care about Hogwarts. But I would often rather be reading than anything else, spend my excess money on books and become involved enough in what I read that I may be emotionally affected or eschew some sleep.

Definitely 11% of my personality is making literary references nobody gets. This is because I make literary references to my own literature, which remains unpublished. When somebody does something outrageously stupid, I say, "Wow, you're really pulling a Gregory Berrycone there." I wait for somebody to ask who Gregory Berrycone is, and then explain that he is a minor character in my absurdist novella (untitled right now) about a man who wakes up one morning with a mysterious plastic knob on the back of his head.

I know it's just some meme joke pic or whatever but the framing of this is incoherent. They didn't even choose "things these people do" or "things these people think" or "things these people have" as a framing device, but some sloppy melange of all three that still, for some unimaginable reason, must add up to 100%
>>
>>7370802
Fact: Shakespeare is only regarded as the greatest English poet of all time because every one of the possible challengers died a premature death.

Just kidding. That'd be a fun novel, though, where either Willy's ghost or some cult of Shakespeare assassinated all of those poets to secure his #1 spot

Is there any logical reason why you would fucking say that post is underrated? Has anybody expressed any kind of dissatisfaction or criticism at all against it? Are you delusional? Are you reading replies that are nonexistant? Maybe you come from communities with voting systems, but there is literally no way that you could know what other people think of that post you just replied to here. Maybe it's psychological. Maybe it's your own post you're replying to, like a 12 year old fucktard liking his own facebook posts thinking his swelling autism is going unnoticed. Maybe your self esteem depends on you tricking yourself into thinking someone out there thinks your post is worth something. Or maybe you are just a retard, the worst kind of retard, the one who thinks he's smart, the one who thinks he's the only one to have gotten the joke, to have understood the post. Well, guess what, faggot, that post is under no definition underrated so why don't you do the world a favor and go check out what the bottom of your toilet smells like?

how does everyone in Odysseus's house recognize him immediately EXCEPT his wife? Like he says hi im ur dad to his son, his nurse sees a scar on his foot, his dog just looks at him and knows, but his wife is the only one who needs proof
>>
>>7373028
same reason that if a man says to you, "I'm your second uncle", you'll probably believe him, but if he says "I'm your long lost dad" you'll want proof.

Love when I accidentally reference something few to no one will get and they do that awkward chuckle and go "Yeah."
>>

more pls
>>
>>7373047

If someone walks up to me and says they're my second uncle I'm walking away because they're probably crazy, and if he says he's my long lost dad I'm walking away even faster. Furthermore Odysseus says "I'm your long lost dad" and his son doesn't ask for proof, which is the basis for your entire argument, making it null before you can even begin to qualify it.

You seemed to not understand my post. His son accepts him with no proof, additionally his dog and his nurse recognize him even when he's disguised. My question is how his wife who, by nature of being his wife will know him more intimately than presumably anyone else, is the only one who, after he's revealed himself and discarded all costumes and disguises and announced himself still does not recognize him.
>>
>>7373028
>how does everyone in Odysseus's house recognize him immediately EXCEPT his wife?

Because the whole fucking point is that Odysseus is trying to HIDE his identity from Penelope so he can make sure that she's been faithful in his absence and is not going to fucking murder him like Clytemnestra did Agamemnon.

As for Penelope wanting proof, she's been trying to avoid suitors for ten fucking years, of course she's wary of being tricked. Plus Penelope is, like Odysseus, a very devious character like that. They make a good couple.

I get bored talking to most people and I end up just trying to avoid conversation. I can't help talking about philosophy and art in general and I can see how they get tired of my irrelevant rants and me myself I can't stand discussing the stupid gossip everyone seems to enjoy, so why even bother?
Fortunately enough I do have a couple of friends from university quite like me so I don't really need more than that.
