iBooks app is pretty decent, scrolling text mode with a dim screen works wonders.

I have and it sucked, but I have a cheap phone with a tiny screen. Should be fine on a decent sized screen.

I exclusively read on my 4.5" phone, the size of the screen is the biggest problem but apart from that it's perfectly fine.

reading on my book: pages flopping around, shadows from light source, need a light source, relatively small font most of the time, requires bookmarks

only a non-reader would actually prefer reading books because he cares more about looking like he's reading than actually reading

I read Ringworld on a 2.8" LG smartphone. I would rather have read somewhere else, but having no other option it's definitely a go-go.

Its a huge battery killer. Most phones cant have their screen on for more than four hrs at a time. Eventually bought an ereader which is also much easier on the eyes

My Moto G 2013 lasts a full day of heavy NEET usage.

I read on an android tablet when I'm home or my phone when I'm out. It's pretty convenient.

I don't, but a former co worker of mine used to read exclusively on his phone. It's like most things; up to the individual. I can't stand the eye strain and the screen size. But he loved it so just try it out.
