Not /lit/, but you'd love The Microphones and Mount Eerie. Two bands (really the same band, just with a name change) solely consisting of a guy named Phil Elverum. Check out Dawn by Mount Eerie, maybe the comfiest album of all time. Or The Glow, Pt. 2 by The Microphones, which I think is the runner up. Both really folky and good.

For /lit/ though, try Jane Eyre. May seem weird based off what you said, but I think you would like how the plot is intimately related with the various settings, all of which are visited for a determined "set" of time, and the sense of freedom in conversation. The characters aren't afraid to really talk with each other, to open up, and I think the homeless people thing kinda shows a little bit of that. A bit of a time when people weren't so afraid to really talk, you know?

This could all be totally wrong, so take it with a grain of salt.

>>

>You missed the other pun, anon
Is it that "cast my vote" part
>>
>>7300965
Yep, Justin Townes Earle is named after TVZ; his father is Steve Earle who you also might want to check out if you haven't already. Townes is sort of an obsession of mine, so let me give you some recommendations based off of his music.

Blaze Foley - possibly the most genuinely down to Earth singer-songwriter there ever was, he was one of Townes' best friends and was the walking embodiment of too many stereotypes, positive and negative, about country music. Nothing in his music is of high technical quality, it's all soul, but really, that's what country music is all about.

Guy Clark - Townes other musical best friend. His music is also of the country kind but it's a more thought out than Blaze's and makes better use of storytelling. I don't find his songs as gripping as Townes' or Blaze's but they're still worth checking out.

Heartworn Highways - A documentary focusing on the underground country scene of the mid 1970s. Filled with hippies and hicks. Most of the time you can't tell the difference.

And finally:

haha I forgot I wrote that. The secret is I've talked to Norm M on the phone. He called me in fact. My favorite comedian and my idol, but it's really only a secret or interesting to people who know me that would care about it. Sorry if it's disappointing.
Genuine, funny man though who you can tell is always cool without ever trying to be

Movies: Enemy, Drive, Inside Lewyn Davis, Shame, Under the Skin, Adaptation, Jacob's Ladder, Whiplash, Bird Man, Ex Machina

Music: Animals as Leaders, Miles Davis, Galactic, Kimbra, King Crimson

Misc: Powerlifting, massages, writing, porn stars with big asses and fake tits (Lisa Ann, Sara Jay, Gianna Michaels, younger Ava Devine, Holly Halston, Phoenix Marie, Shyla Stylez, etc. Pretty much the pornographic equivalent to McDonalds)

DISLIKES: Parties, hanging out with more than 2 friends at once, online dating, first dates, early mornings, bright fluorescent lighting, the christian rock my dad plays on guitar with his massive/loud amplifiers, winter, watching most sports on TV, playing most sports, laundry, staying at work an extra half an hour to overlap and help the next shift at work, the dayshift supervisor (my actual boss is awesome though), having to take breaks with my middle aged female coworkers vs having them alone and reading a good book.

Either/Or Part 1 if you want to keep living in despair. Both parts if you want to take a step towards realizing that you're in despair and possibly fixing your empty life. No but really, Either/Or Part 1 is a work of art. At least read The Seducer's Diary if you don't care about the philosophy. But his introspective work on Don Giovanni and Greek Tragedy, particularly in Silhouettes, is masterful and worth reading.

Hmm I've never really given Kiekergaard a shot, I was always prejudiced him as a christfag. I recall an ex-gf of mine being absolutely infatuated with his writing.

I'll check it out tomorrow, thank you.
