Is the waifu trend a modern analogue to the themes presented in the myth of Pygmalion?
Is nazi samurai as funny as his images imply?

>In Ovid's narrative, Pygmalion was a Cypriot sculptor who carved a woman out of ivory. According to Ovid, after seeing the Propoetides he was "not interested in women",[3] but his statue was so fair and realistic that he fell in love with it.
Hmm.

Just what mental illness/drugs does one have to attain to think like this guy.
Pygmalion was a top-tier artist who made his statue himself -- a statue so accomplished it almost looked real. Also, he lived on an island in ancient times, so the selection of real women available was limited. It's not inconceivable that this small group of available women were all stupid whores.
People with waifus idolize poorly scribbled 2D characters created by sweaty Japanese losers. They also live in a globalized world where there are hundreds of millions of women to potentially meet. Even if only one woman in ten thousand is suitable, that still leaves many thousands.
Waifu worship is post-theist Maria devotion.
