Wonderful book. I've always found it strange that, despite Zweig's popularity throughout much of the world, he's hardly ever mentioned on /lit/.

True, I never seen Zweig mentioned specifically, I think.
Odd, considering how much he's written and how famous he was even during his life-time.

"Professor Mmaa's Lecture" by Stefan Themerson. It's a satire on the nature of humanity, ideologies and blind fanaticism (Themerson writes mostly about Europe in the 30's). Impressive but rather unknown. English translation is available, if someone is interested.
Beside that, I also love "Solaris" by Stanislaw Lem, "Ferdydurke" by Witold Gombrowicz, Jacek Dukaj's "Ice" and "The Street of Crocodiles" by Bruno Schulz (kafkaesque, oniric short stories)

I haven't read many chilean literature, but from the few things I have read I will pick "Tengo miedo torero" from Pedro Lemebel.
I mean he had some tumblr-tier ideas about gender and sexuality, but he had an amazing prose, and I enjoyed every single part he represented Pinochet as some dumbass who was controlled by his wife.

>inb4 why not Neruda or Mistral
