hi soda
No.
It can be pretty certain that if you think you're a bad writer you're a bad writer. In my experience, the best way to tell if you're a decent writer is if better writers say so.

Is there a standard or strategy for efficient proofreading that's widely used, so I can practice it?
I picked up English Grammar For Dummies two years ago and thoroughly educated myself on the theory, but I'm still not confident that my writing is free from inconsistencies in punctuation style, for example inconsistent use of semicolons versus em dashes, inconsistent decision-making on comma use, etcetera. I want to be able to repair these kind of amateurish problems in an efficient and formulaic way, so that my texts are up to publication-quality standard.

Chicago manual of style is the one most journos use I believe. Remember this is designed for newspapers etc. so not all of the pointers will be appropriate for things like novel writing.

Do you know if that applies to the British writing sectors too? Forgot to mention that I'm British.

I assumed you were American. I think the major dictionary producers (Oxford, Cambridge, Collins etc.) also have their own versions. You might have to buy a hard copy though.
Here's another quite useful online-based resource:

What do you think of Sacks ?
Read Uncle Tungsten as a one-off and liked his casual style enough to get some other, more neuro oriented books.
He is easy for me to get into because I work with patients and can appreciate the perspectives on functional impairment and clinical insights.
he was quite the leather biker boy stud

What is your favorite Daniil Kharms story?
>>7839806
I wonder how many people remember IRANMAN and that epic Daniil Kharms thread where /lit/ scanned, edited and posted that ebook for him.
/lit/ was pretty awesome back then...or at least for those couple of days.

I think I've read all his stories, but it's been years. The Old Woman, probably.

Are you well versed in your own country's literary tradition, or do you just slut it up with foreign """classics"""?

I have read a lot in English and also translations from other languages, but Estonian literature and specifically poetry makes me inspired like no other I have read. Sad that more people do no get to experience it. Doomed to be viewed as lesser I suppose.
Is any good /lit/?

It's pretty nice to read before or after something like War & Peace, Tolstoy writes about man's relationship with nature very well.
Also Maryanka has to be one of the hottest girls in all of fiction.
Pretty good.
I found it quite good. That said it's full of technical terms that I had no idea of
Why does the ethics of meat-eating seem to be the most fashionable topic in philosophy today?
Why does seemingly every philosopher currently working feel the need to devote thousands upon thousands of words to this issue?
Are we as a society too comfortable and pre-occupied with 'luxury issues,' like whether it's OK to eat meat?
fuck i could go for some rotisserie chicken right now
they don't want to talk about the real issues
It's just one piece of a patchwork of concerns regarding the future of our planet which is under a lot of stress with overpopulation.

Right now we're at the very elementary level, perfect time to join.
The original source material was too advanced and it was replaced, now we're using this:

ITT: we discuss which political candidates famous authors or philosopher would support.
I'll start. Bernie Sanders is exactly how I imagine Allen Ginsberg would act if he ran for president.

Donald Trump=Julius Evola
Poudhon would probably support Donald Trump who seems to be our genorations Napoleon III
>>7837665
