What books written in the 21st century are going to be seen as literary classics in the future? Or is "literature" dead?
Start with anything you want, but I would sugest that you read some short stories first (Notes of the dirty old man, Hot watet music...) and then dive into novels (Ham on rye is a good start here because you can see how his father shaped his later behaviour in life).
Been really getting into Bukoswki lately, just discovered him and can't stop reading. Any authors you know if with his kinda style? I can relate to the whole misery, depression, alcoholic, suicidal characters. I already love Kerouac, Burroughs. Any other down on their luck miserable authors you recommend for a person constantly thinking about the next drink or suicide?
best edition of gravity's rainbow? I know that one of them has a lot of issues with it.
>it's another best edition of gravity's rainbow thread
Please recommend books on antinatalism.
Ulysses Fight me, faggot.
Literature fans born from the 30s to the 60s, has the way literature evolved surprised you?
The only books I've read are Harry Potter and LotR when I was young. Currently reading Count of Monte Christo. In short I'm a uneducated pleb or DYEL if this was /fit/
I've seen the /lit/ top 100 chart and I've heard I should avoid the meme trinity.
So is it possible to sort the toplist from beginner to hard or do I just go from top down? Where would you start?
Imagine you're going to jail and you can bring 5 books but they have to be works of poetry.which works would you choose?
I am amazed to find that this book is EXACTLY what you guys meme'd it out to be.
>Overtly, I had so-called normal relationships with a number of terrestrial women having pumpkins or pears for breasts; inly, I was consumed by a hell furnace of localized lust for every passing nymphet whom as a law-abiding poltroon I never dared approach.
Seriously hilarious shit. It's like he knew there would be lolis one day and tons of trolling about them. This book is proving to be one huge master ruse. Do people really read this with unironic...

I am searching for literature the depicts the collapse of societies or nations (it doesnt matter if it is fictional or historical ) on the street level. Meaning that I am looking for stories that illuminate the everyday life of everyday people.
So do you have any suggestions?
