Which is better /lit/?
Necronomicon is a nice edition which feels good to read and looks great on a shelf. Not sure about the other's content but the cover looks like shit senpai.

The one on the right.
>>7892811
Both are shitty editions
Necronomicon contains so much of Lovecraft's mediocre work. It doesn't deserve the fancy binding.
The BnN edition is almost good, but does not compile his collaborations, some of which are good, such as the two about sneku peepil. There's also no analysis, making it hard for a newcomer to dive into him.
Id go with the BnN one.
This is my favorite short story. What is yours?
It's not a short story and it's shit.
/v/ based shit
I've never read much in the way of short stories outside of English courses, I'll admit
Though probably Araby. A fantastic story that I've only grown appreciation for over the years that continues to amaze me in new ways when coming back to it or reading new criticism on it.

I like mine, but it lacks the romance of a real book. It's nice that you can go practically catatonic with it. No awkward positions for bed readers. Oh, and get the back light unless you read with a lamp over your shoulder.

All right. What's better: a Kindle with or without special offers?
Do you ever get strange stares in public?
Are there any song lyricists with literary merit?
Whoo.
I don't exactly know if you're asking if they're actual authors or whatnot, but check out The Decemberists' album The Hazards of Love.
It's a concept album with a really long, beautiful story and songs to match. Just reading the lyrics is like reading a Shakespearian work. Go for it.

Is it true that all great writers eventually kill themselves? Think it's related somehow?
>>7889314
Only in a manner of speaking. Joyce died from health complications that may or may not have been related to his boozing. Or probably just being poor.
>>7889314
No. Name one writer on the same level as Joyce or Gaddis that killed themself.

Hey 4chan,
A few months ago I posted about the upcoming adaptation of the New Sun series into 2 feature length movies. I dont think anyone actually cared except to say 'dont do it' but for anyone interested the film is in production. And if you maybe have a teeny bit of a sense of humor youll appreciate the music that will be in the theatrical trailer.

Any real sources except Taylor Swift you can offer?

Also I have supremely low expectations.
Best thing to come out of it could be more widespread acknowledgement of Wolfe, but it's implausible, assuming this isn't some next level bait.

Not really no there is a pretty comprehensive NDA i mean i have no problem telling you the plot but if i prove it i am in a legal bind, ya dig? Ill try and think of something.

Dunno yet. Still eyeing a few things in my backlog. Maybe The Magic Mountain.
Yes, because naming three books would totally prove that objectively and of course I, Anonymous, desperately need to prove to you, Anonymous, that I read books.

He's right, you know. The hagiography around DFW is fucking awful. It's one of the main reasons I absolutely despise Franzen.
Also, American Psycho is better and more literary than anything Wallace ever wrote.

So I've been reading books on the train to work all year so far. On a whim, I picked up Kafka on the Shore, positively loved it, although the ending was less than stellar.
I immediately picked up Wind Up Bird Chronicle, liked that even better, although the last 1/3 of the book, until the very last chapters was such a cluster of unnecessary additional characters and links, in my opinion. Still really enjoyed it.
Then I read 1Q84. I just finished today. I can hardly fathom how empty it felt. Extreme, constant repetition, illogical character choices, This is...
