You don't because it's a fucking misinterpretation of Plato's Timaeus.
>God is dead
what did he mean by this?
Belief in a God figure becomes increasingly difficult. Therefore God is dead. See any Western country for an example.

Except the US...
People always forget the "and we killed him" part

An excerpt :
Several of the members worked intermittently during the war for the CIA’s predecessor, the Office of Strategic Services. In this advisory capacity they investigated the psychic origins of fascism and proposed far-reaching plans for curing the Germans of their aggressive political culture. This exploration of the social and psychological preconditionsfor a fascist society culminated in the publication of The Authoritarian Society (1950), a compilation of essays that fit into a series of commentaries titled Studies in Prejudice, which was financed and published...

Have been wanting to set up the idea of this kind of story for years.
Anybody have any pointers? The last time I tried to get some help from /lit/, it didn't work out because I was trying to hide the fact with a slow buildup.
Will be more frank and forthcoming this time.
Honestly, if I provide info, details and writing samples, how many of you would be willing to critique?

Any gift ideas in form of books for an awesome kid and her parents? She's only twelve but she's making a translation of Pindar just for me, and she's made a habit of reading Boethius and Aurelius every night before bed. Both her parents are practically geniuses, top level scholars, they have a ton of Loeb books and let me borrow a bunch at a time as long as I want. I'd like to get them some special titles, but they're all super well read so I'm at a loss. Any suggestions for something very obscure but which they'd doubtlessly love?

When the adults put them in their ship after stopping Jack from hunting Ralph, It is implied that the navy is hunting an enemy very similarly to how Ralph was hunted. But you tell me, who's gonna stop the adults from murdering?

At what age do you guys think that Shakespeare should be read? I think reading him at an age too young invites too much misunderstanding, especially with the themes of his more serious (and lauded) plays. I myself started reading Shakespeare intermittently when I was already in my 20s.
What's your favorite Shakespeare play?
(I'm currently reading pic related, since it features the best villain Shakespeare wrote.)
Hamlet naturally. I started with him in senior year in high school and I think thats'a good starting point.

It's either Hamlet or Macbeth. I started with Macbeth, then followed up with Hamlet.
How difficult is Absalom Absalom! as compared to Sound and the Fury or other books?

Haven't read Absolam, Absolam, but tbqhpfam TSATF was more accessible than I previously had thought (before reading it, that is. It's a matter of mentality, I think. Don't go in expecting this book to be difficult or you'll be looking for things that might not even be there.
>>8095612
I had an easier time with A,A! once I finished reading with TSATF. It's complicated at times, but just read through it. In the end everything just coalesces and makes sense.

What are the best resources for studying philosophy to accompany the texts themselves? Are sites like Stanford Encyclopaedia of Philosophy worth it in your opinion?
the secondary literature recommended by your professor

Yes, SEP.
Perhaps some 'Companion" guides, as needed.
