erotica can be a fertile and rewarding artistic subject.
I'm not a native speaker and I'm not particularly capable of concentrating right now, either.
Would someone be willing to explain to me what this ( http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/poems/detail/89329?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social_media&utm_campaign=general_marketing ) poem is about?

I know this is a long text, but it contains stuff about memes and lines like "[pics or it didn’t happen]".

It's about being trapped in your given circumstances I suppose.
Lit, how do I just get over my own head and read? I keep holding myself to some sort of standard, I stare at a page and get frustrated sometimes because I feel like I'm not comprehending sentences fast enough. I find myself staring at a page and telling myself that I've been staring at it for too long. I feel like I should be a faster reader, and that if I'm not then it's because I simply don't have the brain capacity, which I feel is false because if I were to simply relax and not take things so seriously, I could get so much more reading done because...

Relax kid, to become a proficient reader develops over years. Keep reading. Maybe have a cup of tea or coffee before you read, or take a 30 minute jog to calm your mind and relax before reading.
I look up words I don't know, it rarely happens now because I've been doing it for almost a decade, eventually your knowledge base gets big, just take it in stride, one book at a time.
This ain't a competition, you're just racing against death's clock but you'll be dead either way, breathe kiddo.
One page at a time, brother. But read daily.

I know it may seem impossible doing a handstand and reading, so I suggest strengthening thay neck and doing a head stand.
What's your favourite Borgesian story/poem?
Other than these:
Library of Babel
The Circular Ruins
Tlon, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius
Personal fave is Funes the Memorious. I don't know how to judge his poetry since Spanish is all Greek to me. But it seems okay, with a few metaphors and images standing out.
funes was great, one of my top ones too, OP
garden of forking paths was also pretty cool

The Immortal is one of my personal favorites. The moment when he finds outthe troglodyte was Homer all alongis the most /lit/erary plot twist I've ever read.

Reading fanged noumenon atm, can literally feel the lib being crushed out of him as the years progress.
First essay encourages fostering of amazonian violence against patriarchy, couple more essays in we are at Schopenhauer and questioning in prols are even human.
Loving it so far

>Almost single-handedly saved the act of "reading" from going extinct among the Millenial generation
How about /lit/ finally shows some love and respect for Ms. Rowling, hmmm?

Why even live
Recently picked up Cumming's collection, some of his poems are very understandable and quite beautiful, but sometimes I'm left scratching my head. Thoughts? And if any, favorite poem by him?
a lot of his stuff was hit or miss for me, but overall I like him. this is one of my all time favorite poems:
somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience, your eyes have their silence:
in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,
or which i cannot touch because they are too near
your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully,mysteriously)her first rose
or if your wish be to close me,i and
my life...

Good for what he did, bad for those who did what he did after he did it. His early poetry, the stuff he wrote while still at Harvard, is interesting. That's cummings: "interesting". Maybe not great, sometimes good. Interesting nonetheless

Hey guys, so I just finished pic related, really liked it, but now I'm kind of unsure of what I want to read next. I like dark stuff like that, violent, scary, whatever, that kind of thing.
But anyways I also like all different kinds of literature, some of my favorites are American Psycho, Catcher in the Rye Tale of Two Cities, Dracula, Confederacy of Dunces, 20,000 leagues under the sea.
I'm not really well read but I've gotten into some of the classics, and some of the more popular contemporary stuff. Anyways I'd love to hear if anyone had...

What is the best site for illegally downloading books (I am a libertarian and do not believe in the concept of intellectual property) for my electronic fedora (kindle)?
oh are there not any sites to download books from? shame.
libgen you narc
Hello clone of me. I use books and libgen. Sometimes it's hard to find books in non PDF format, but no matter what I would recommend calibr for easy conversions. It even has an add to device option to it's one or two clicks to auto convert and add a book from comp to Kindle.
So I hate actually reading books. But I want to know the stories of Barsoom, Tarzan, and the 2 Alice in wonder land books.
What is the best place to get a high quality audiobook for free or other 100% unabridged adaptation that I don't have to read?

Dragontails are an aphrodisiac, thus dragon populations have been on a steep decline due to poaching.

From a /lit/ and /biz/ perspective?
You want something that will be related to your book of course! Something either deep or literal maybe.
You ALSO want something that will help it stick out and sell. Since Publishers won't pick up authors that don't sell.
That's pretty much it.
Here's an irrelevant /lit/ cap.
It is important, but definitely not as important as album covers. Basically every modern music release has a square image tied to it, an album cover that tries to depict its content in the most favorable way in order to appeal to consumers.
It's interesting that this attachment to the cover image is so much less important in literature, proven by the fact many books have multiple covers depending on the edition, publisher, translation etc.
Maybe it's harder to convey words into an image? Or maybe the literary scene is not as susceptible to marketing strategies?...

They are important enough to exist, the title more so.
How many books at a time do you read? Do you stick to one or multiple? How fast do you read? Everyday or somedays? How long does it take you to finish the book(s)?
jesuschristgetalifewhofuckingcares
I read twenty pages of a novel a day, and an issue of a comic. I find if I read too much in one day I get burned out and then stop, since I stick to this schedule consistently I inevitably read more.
