>How long do you usually wait between finishing a book and starting another /lit/?
depends on how late at night i finish the book. if its late enough i will start another one the next day, if it's early i'll look around my 'fast-track' list then choose one.
>Or do you read 12 books at the same time?
only around four
Just finished Dorian Gray. I basically wait until I feel like starting another. Usually I'll take some time to think about the book I just finished for a few days and then I'll start another when that process is finished.

somewhere between 10 minues and 42 days
the phenomenon of man is totally next level shit. brilliant synthesis of theology, globalization theory, post-industrial theory, and transhumanism. so so ahead of its time. it (and the other works if Teilhard de Chardin) not only reconciles Religion and Science, it forms a rich independent theological theory around the reconciliation of the two. One that In my opinion is evidence for the extreme potential of religious modernism. Evidence that it can be something not about casting away of spirituality and religiosity in the modern world, but using the innovations of the modern...

Is this just more contintental guff?
Recently began writing female fiction erotica.
What I want to know is how do you identify the fantasies of a women through a male's perspective. Would I interview a handful of random women for insight on what to write, or would I try to reach the broadest demograph based statistically on what most women fantasize of?
Does anyone on /lit/ have any knowledge of how I would go about this?
All females want to be raped.

Check out that Secret Garden book. Can't recall exact name.
But in general, like 50 shades of shitty has illustrated so well, most women are total, 100% irredeemable subs.

Oh my I cannot believe you said that!
I'm trying to get into the King Arthur stories, but there are so fucking many. What are the bare essentials? So far I'm going on:
>Geoffrey of Monmouth's "Historia Regum Brittaniae" and "Vita Merlini"
>Cretien de Troyes' "Perceval" et al.
>Sir Gawain and the Green Knight
>Mabinogion
>Sir Thomas Malory's "Le Morte D'Arthur"
>Edmund...

Was a cool as shit Ravenclaw, now am a beta Pukwudgie.
I'm seriously thinking of killing myself.

After reading the school's backstory Pukwudgie seems like the most kickass house.

That is i-Lvermony. This bullshit is why serif fonts exist.
What books should I read if I wanted to lead a revolution?
none, praxis is more important than sitting around reading theory.
None, revolution is for iliterate plebs.
>>8217853
real men should fight for a conservative revolution by embracing the redpill
Is Infinite Jest anything but a meme? What's the charm of a novel that no one can understand, and which only appeal is the absurd?
>>8217810
>What's the charm of a novel that no one can understand
what made you think it's incomprehensible
are you sure you're not confusing it with finnegans wake
Its not hard to understand. Its just long and involved and ambiguous.
>>8217810
IJ ain't a meme mate. Do yourself a favour, read it, read it to your kids as a bedtime story and all.

what books do i read to make my life happier
Curious George
First you start off with simple fantasy books like Harry Potter or Narnia. They will teach you that fiction is filled with comfy worlds that will make you happy.
After that you go to more mature stuff like Game of Thrones or the Dune series. They will teach you that stories don't have to be cozy and fun, but they can still provide you with real world lessons about politics and history.
After that you can finally move onto "big boy literature," like Shakespeare and Homer. These works provide a mix of the two previous categories. They can be fun entertainment,...

Just get some nice loose leaf tea, supplement vitamin D, and listen to In Our Time in your garden.
And read Lucretius.
Are books the best cure for loneliness?
Nothing else seems to do the job better.
Have you tried sex?
you're no longer alone when you're reading a book, so yes
I've tried many substitutes but literally nothing can truly be a surrogate for actual human companionship. A comfy novel is a close second, however.
Why do you read?
I do because I enjoy it, but there is also another reason. I read because I feel the need to be better than others. But I didn't start reading because "oh, if I do this i'll feel better than most people!". I did it inconsciously. I started enjoying books and probably one of the reasons was I wanted to be better than others.
That's also one of the reasons I know 4 languages and am currently learning another.

Nice masturbatory post, OP.
I, too, like to feel better than others and will often smugly make literary references amongst normies that I know they won't get.

The meaning of the thread is implicit
non-pretentious answer
i like it
pretentious but comprehensive answer
i find it more aesthetically compelling than film or music, so i can binge read for days at a time but i can only watch around 12~ hours of movies at a time without losing interesting.
Just read this. Loved it. What did you all think of it?
good book very underrated here
seems like it's much more well known/widely read outside of the US
teencore level stuff
(not saying it's bad)

IMAGINE, A PREGNANT WOMAN HOBBLING UP A GOD DAMN MOUNTAIN TO BURY A HEAD. FUCK SAKE.
FUCKING DIED HUGGING HER CHILDREN. HUGGING HER GOD DAMNED CHILDREN. HOW THE FUCK DOES THIS MEME SURVIVE
Marginally related, but shit takes time, any tips and tricks towards taking advantage of all those hours chopped off the day? "Listening" to music obviously doesn't count, I mean mindless tasks like crochet or peeling potatoes. Paraphernalia? Lecterns, what?

Relax by the pool, sipping beer and getting a blowjob from my daughter.
It is a particularly American pathology to feel the need to occupy themselves maximally at every moment of the day such that they have no time for anything and accomplish nothing.
literature might not be for you.
What does /lit/ think of DH Lawrence?
I've only read a translation he did of All Things are Possible by Lev Shestov. I love that book,
>>8216814
We like him. Came close to being of the greats.
- /lit/
His poems are great and underappreciated.
His books are also very good and about rightly appreciated.

When Nietzsche stops being a fagnever
