Hey /lit/, do you value or appreciate screenplays the same as you do literature? If you think Shakespeare (and other playwrights) are /lit/ level, why or why not do you think the same of screenplays?

Name a screenplay that reaches up to the same /lit/erary level as Shakespeare.
>>7448556
Well I guess that's part of my question. Do you think a screenplay could ever reach that status? Not all plays are on the level of Shakespeare, but they're often cited on /lit/ level.

What are the best self-improvement books, /lit/?
Which ones have really changed your worldview?
Books that aren't called self-help books. You can turn anything into a self-help book so don't waste your money on books that are nothing else.

By self-Improvement I don't mean self-help, I just mean books that have helped people change or transform.
Yang Chu's Garden of Pleasure
I am considering self publishing (on Amazon) a book about my travels. In 2014 ,in summer, aged 21, I hitch-hiked mostly alone in the Balkans for one month, without paying for accomodation, not knowing any of the local languages and with no hitch-hiking and camping experience. Before that trip, I (I'm Italian) never went outside Western Europe.
The only issue I have is the book is my actual travel diary. Apart from all the personal issues, I am worried about telling everyone I know (and don't know) about me smoking pot. Changing names and places wouldn't...

Publish it without putting your real name in it
>>7446953
As I normally post updates for everyone on Facebook, many people know that it would be me anyway. Also I was interviewed for my solo travels so it would make sense for me to publish with my real name as I apparently have some "fame".
Honestly the entire premise sounds boring as fuck.
If you don't want people to know you're a drug addict then change the names. If you realize most people expect authors to be degenerates and don't care you should use your real name for your boring book.

in order from 3 through 8.

Lets discuss the greatest book ever.
So, why was Dante exiled in 1301? Did he speak out against corruption in Florence?
>>7446335
Wasn't it because he was a white guelph but the black guelphs took power and accused him of being politically corrupt? :s
>After the Guelphs finally defeated the Ghibellines in 1289 at Campaldino and Caprona, Guelphs began to fight among themselves. By 1300 the Florentine Guelphs had divided into the Black Guelphs and the White Guelphs. The Blacks continued to support the Papacy, while the Whites were opposed to Papal influence, specifically the influence of Pope Boniface VIII. Dante was among the supporters of the White Guelphs, and in 1302 was exiled when the Black Guelphs took control of Florence
