The HIV rate among transwomen is even higher then gay men kek.
It seems like a lot of trans women have "adult" careers (porn, prostitution) so that would raise the rate. Also getting a firm number is difficult, as there's so many variables. Stealth trans women, study bias, under/over reporting etc. another thing to look at is the fact that they got the 22% number from FIVE "high-income" countries. By not breaking down the specifics, a biased scientist/studier can skew the results either way they please. The last thing that would raise the rate is the hook up culture. Not many men want to date a trans woman, but a decent percentage would fuck one. If one takes that into account, that means statistically Transwomen would have less monogamous sexual partners, which increases the likelihood of contracting HIV. Transwomen face more hardships, increasing the likelihood of HIV. Income, monogamy, career and drug use can affect the chances of catching an STD, statistically it's not in favor of Transwomen.
Personally, I doubt it's as high as 22%, it's probably closer to 15%.
It's probably all of the AGP's chasing BBC and gangbangs raising the rate for the rest of us.

The reason trans women have such high instances of HIV is because they do not have the ability to negotiate safe sex and condom use. If you are a homeless trans teen on the street, pulling tricks for a meal, you don't get to choose if you have protected sex or not. If you are a hon and some guy asks you to fuck bare, you probably accept because it is the only way you are going to have sex. Basically trans people have to take the sex that is handed to them and as a result can not properly negotiate safe sex practices.
Also trans women are always the receiving partner making them much more susceptible than gay men that top.
