Not trying to generalize here people, but I have to ask, why are gay/lesbian people so easy to pick out in a crowd? It's just too damn easy to pick you guys and girls out, even without a positive ID like rainbow bracelet, belt, etc. Part of me feels like it's just people being lazy, unimaginative, or just incredibly shallow to the point to where their sexuality is a predetermined aesthetic choice, but you guys are worst than people who center their entire aesthetic appeal around what music they listen to. Why is this? Don't even get me started on the men that have incredibly effeminate voices. They are literally the only demographic of human beings on the planet that talk like that and it gets really fucking annoying after hearing so many of them talk like that.

And also, why is it that most women that go for the short hair look are almost certainly lesbians? I like women with short hair, depending if they have the skull and facial structure to rock it, but after finding out that is pretty much a calling card for "I like pussy", I don't even bother engaging with them anymore.

I'm not trying to be a hard on about this, but goddamnit, it's so one note. It's almost like you guys have come full circle and just embraced the stereotype.
>>
There is an LGBT culture which formed in response to gay people banding together when they were social outcasts. That culture has it's own trends in terms of dress.

I find the voices of many women to be irritating
>>
>>6552277
>LGBT culture

Sorry, but that sounds like a crock of shit to me. I have several gay friends both male and female and they do all the exact same things I do. Am I lead to believe that there is LGBT food, music, fashion, etc that can only be enjoyed by the LGBT community otherwise you just wont get it?

Is it like a Jeep thing, I just wouldnt understand? Frankly it sounds pretentious as fuck, like the musings of a 16 year old rebelling against their parents for not being "hip" enough.
>>
>>6552289
Not going to lie, I do as well, especially some of their shrill, fake laughs but the whole Ssssss thing, like a snake throwing a hissy fit gets on my last goddamn nerve.

To quote David Cross, "Not all gay men talk like that, but ONLY gay men talk like that"
>>
>>6552292
Obviously not everyone who is gay is part of it, retard. But I grew up in the SF bay area and there are gay neighborhoods in SF and they have their own culture which propagates outwards into LGBT cultures in other cities. There is gay fashion, music, theater, movies, etc.

I give a shit less about religion anon, my problem is that the "culture" that I've been lead to believe is an actual thing centers around the singular aspect of one's being, their sexuality, and it's frankly really boring. Yeah, I'm straight and it was never meant for me, but I've yet to see how centering around this one aspect of one's being makes for any sort of actual culture.

Does Dolce and Gabanna put out suits with rainbow dick patterns all over it? Does Elton John sing songs about sucking dick every other track? Is Ellen DeGeneres' entire comedy bit and talk show about muff diving?
>>
No one suspects I'm gay. My skin is shit, I can't dress properly, my hair is receding, I cannot quip and suffer from general awkwardness, my advises are shit, and I am unpleasant to look at. Wish I was more stereotypically gay desu senpai.
>>
>>6552322
That sounds unfortunate anon, though you sound like you're kind of depressed and not very confident to begin with, so why not try some self improvement? Perhaps Rogaine and browsing the internet for some clothing that you find appealing? You sound like someone I'd much rather want to hang out with rather than some one who is a walking, talking, one-dimensional facade.
>>
>not to generalize, but why are you all generally like this

Uh-huh.
>>
>>6552345
>Rogaine
That shit is expensive, and I think that the results are only there while you're using it. As for the clothing issue, I often feel like I'm not good enough for certain clothes. I feel like it looks too good for someone like me to wear it.

>You sound like someone I'd much rather want to hang out with rather than some one who is a walking, talking, one-dimensional facade.
I don't know. I kind of like stereotypical gays. They always seem so happy, upbeat, and sociable. I'd choose them over myself any day of the week. The whole masc/fem divide seems stupid and superficial to me.
>>
>>6552377
Yet I've not had one person adequately explain why a majority of the people that belong to this "culture" desperately try to separate themselves to look and act like carnival side show attractions when they are just as one dimensional as their straight counterparts.
>>
>>6552391
I'm picking on your language. You deserve it. Ask your slanted questions without pretending they aren't slanted. You're bad at pretending they aren't slanted.

>culture in scare quotes

People who participate in a culture will display markers of that culture. That goes for every culture.
>>
>>6552386
Well, I suppose you could always talk a stylist and see what they can do to work with you. It sounds like your finances aren't in the best of order if you're having trouble affording Rogaine, but if you really want to do something special for yourself, do yourself a flavor and save up to have a tailored suit made for yourself. It's easily the most expensive pieces of clothing I own, but it fits me like a glove and makes me feel like a complete badass while wearing it. Many compliments and unwanted phone numbers, but still, it does the trick.

I kind of agree with you on the whole masc/fem thing, though its still slightly jarring when confronted with a man acting like what most women would act like and vice versa, just not typically the norm. It's just the really loud, flamboyant ones in particular that stick in my craw, like a 14 year old girl showing her ass to piss off her dad only her dad is nowhere in sight and she continues to do it just for attention.
>>
>>6552264
I look straight as hell, and as a result I never get approached by other females.

Anyways anon, I used to think the same thing you did but eventually You just gotta let people do what they want and express themselves how they want. It might be annoying, but they're not hurting anyone.
>>
>>6552399
No, I'm calling out the fact that there isn't a thing as gay culture and that this small minority of people is made up of a majority of people who are just as bland and shallow as straight people, but desperately seeking their own moiety and agency because of reasons of keeping separated from them because "we're not like them" when you're one in the same. The only difference is your sexuality, but since that wasn't enough, you had to contrive other attributes tacked onto the end like the next letter that will get thrown up on the LGBT banner to further separate yourselves from the rest of society while screaming for acceptance.
>>
>>6552408
Where on earth would I even wear a tailored suit? Anyway, I do appreciate your advice, but I don't think that's for me. I'll just resume slowly dying alone instead.
>>
>>6552421
Bleh...

I guess you're right, water finds it's level, I just wish for once that wasn't the case. It just gets incredibly boring and predictable after a while, like where are these people spawning from? Do they just watch how television and pornography portrays homosexuals and just roll with it? It's so goddamn stupid.
>>
>>6552443
Literally anywhere, even if you have no where to go in particular. You would be surprised of how well compliments can build confidence when people compliment you on your dress simply by walking down the street looking pimping fresh.

Just to put things in perspective, I work in a kitchen and as an electrician's apprentice and very rarely go out and do the bar/night club scene, you think I want to wear jeans and a t-shirt every goddamn day of my life?
>>
>>6552310
>"lel I'm not religious! Now Victory in Jesus Christ!"
>>
>>6552310
Ellen and Elton John - The reason that mainstream lgbt icons dont talk about gay stuff is because thier audience is straight.

>>6552264
The reason you can pick them out in a crowd is because the only ones you can pick out are the stereotypes. You see more gay men you can't pick out gauranteed. You just think they are all flamboyant because those are the only ones you see. Go meet actual gay people and youll see that the flamboyant ones are not the majority.
>>
>>6552264
Its probably any mixture of things. Think less in terms of particular people being "queer" and more in terms of all the parts of their social outlook, their personal goals, their monetary situation and other things like that that come in line for them to identify that way.
