I think anything off about your appearance is most likely going to be dismissed as normal from where you come from instead of bringing the suspicion of you being trans.

actually yeah this is a good point. i read this in some reddt post about being trans in japan; that they will just assume that it's 'foreigner weirdness' etc.

well, no. but there are two? i think? jet-sponsored trips ahead of your actual tenure there that they send you on, like orientation and whatnot, and im sure that if i hated it so much i could just drop out after that. but i just get the feeling i wont hate it.
