Learning about music can be a hobby, learning to play an instrument can be a hobby. If there's an instrument you want to learn consider joining a class

Doesn't have to be one. You can join an issue advocacy group(legalize weed, death penalty legislation reform, get out the vote campaigns, etc.), and meet people who share at least one ideal and goal with you.

Easy, join a traditional games/board games meetup at your friendly local game store (many FLGS even host Hearthstone tournaments).
Learn another card game, join a pen and paper RPG group, play Cards Against Humanity on weekends with strangers.

Afaik the 2 local stores only have warhammer and mtg shit and for my sanity and my waller i will not get into either. Real life rpg could be fine, and so do cards against humanity but i dont know how i would go about that.

Talk with the store managers about any RPG groups.
Most shops have a few weekend groups (my shop has an ongoing walk in DnD campaign where they teach new players how to play), and at every board games meetup I've ever been to there's always been at least one Cards Against Humanity game.

Okay OP, as someone who was in a similar situation to you earlier here is my advice:

I don't play MtG but the impression I get from /tg/ is that it's the card game equivalent to League of Legends, that is to say a horribly overcommercialized piece of shit that used to be pretty good and has since been raped, tortured and killed in order to squeeze as much money out of it as possible. Also it's ridiculously overpriced and the new player experience is so terrible that veterans wouldn't recommend it to their most hated enemies.

Accorrding to /tg/ that is literally every game.
I went to my local game shop two weeks ago and bought 60 common cards for $1 and got 20 free lands to go with them. Most gameshops are happy to do this after they have a draft.
Commons may not make the best decks ever but at the price of $1 affording you a decent entry to the game, hundreds of hours of fun and a tonne of friends, why wouldn't you?
If you aren't even willing to try this idea then you aren't even trying to get friends.
Pic is a fantastic common which I bought four of today. Each was 25 cents. Those cards went into and increadbily good deck of mine. You just have to know what cards you're looking for and how to work them together.

Also should mention if you're worried about the game not paying for itself buy a Duel Deck to start. They always sell for more than you buy them after a year.
